well, they are mainly a paint shop for the masses. im not impressed with their work very much and just like most things....you get what you pay for. if you want a quick cheap coat of paint slapped on, go there.....but dont expect a show quality job out of them

I had my truck painted there. It came out good. Some shops are better than others.

>i seen some good paint jobs that cam out of maaco, but thats

that is all dependent on what the person prefers on paint brand, maaco's use dupont as their paint so there is nothing wrong with the pain they use, only other ones some may thing would be better would be house of color or sikkens. maaco's are independently ran and the quality of their paint jobs depends on the owner, like the one that is about 20 miles from here puts out horrible jobs, but the one that is like 10 minutes from here does good work, they are who done my fron bumper cover and my center tail light piece and will be doing my side skirts next week. They main thing about when you get a paint job and what quality it's gonna be and how long it's gonna last is if you get the cheapest thing which will just be a single coat paint or if you actually get a base coat/clear coat which will last.

hhahahaaah.

Awe yes, Maaco.

THEY SUCK. I had my talon done yellow there and I was ticked at EVERYTHING that I put a stop on the check I gave them and never paid them. They kept giving me the run around when I told them to fix shit, even though the contract says will fix anything within 7 days.

First, they painted THE ENGINE through the front bumper. SO I had a yellow front bumper and a yellow engine or whatever behind it. Second, they barely painted the udnerside of the tall turbo spoiler. They're like "we cant get under spoilers". Give me a break the turbo spoiler is tall enough. Second, the SANDED MY SUNROOF. What in god's name made them do that?? They FULLY PAINTED my muffler. They painted in the wheel wells so behind my tires was yellow. I told them DONT PAINT THE MIRRORS. They messed up and painted HALF the mirrors and tried to cover it up. UGH, if you paint half the mirrors just paint the whole thing you morons. They did a horrible job taping off, and the rubber linings around windows and things had paint marks here and there, everywhere. I didnt pay extra for door jam paintings but they made sure to overspray all over my door jams. UGH. And overall the paint was CRAP and chipped off like flakes very quickly.

They gave me the run around so much that my 7 day period expired and I had to scrape off my own muffler's paint, touchup the rubber linings with black marker, spray paint in my wheel wells with black paint and spray paint the engine under the bumper black and I also had to paint my whole mirrors yellow because the cover up they did was horrible. Im glad I stopped that check. if they had just let me come back so they could fix things I wouldnt have been so angry.

MAACO SUCKS

here is a pic a couple days(even after the rain) of how my car looked after getting a maaco paint job. when i first posted my pics there seemed to be a dab of red showing from prior paint job, blinbiz and i looked really hard to find the red spot at the lehigh meet and it musta been something from the camera cuz we couldn't see anyhting.

im not sure all maacos are good, the one i went too seemed great, clean facilites, and really nice workers... hell they even picked me up at my apartment 10min away to take me to my car.

as far as durability, i have a 4 year warantee so if the paint comes off in that time they have to repaint my car again.

no paint anywhere on my greddy evo catback, no runs, all shine. they did not too a 100% job on my jams but thats ok.

i give my experience with them a 9.5/10

like I said all maaco's are independantly ran, it depends on if the owner cares more about one timers and the money they get from one timres or if they care about doing a great job and the word spreading and that person coming back. My friend had a tracker painted at one a ways away from here, it was horrible, paint chipped off horribly, over spray everywhere, but he also got the "200 embassador paint service" another friend took his brand new car to get it painted viper blue to the shop right near me, turned out great, it cost him 1500 but it looks great, no over spray, no orange peel, no fisheyes, no blistering, etc. the maaco name isn't whats bad, it all goes from shop to shop.

well, i got my hi spoiler painted at macco along with my whole hatch because it was all faded and ugly, and they matched the paint perfect to my stock paint. my car is green wish i had scanner to show you pics but, i was very pleased with the paint job...i believe it's all about what person is actually doing the job.

Ok you usually get what you pay for. Figure this. $200 - $500 for a maaco paint job. Most shops charge 50 dollars an hour. That means they only work 4-10 hours total to get your car prepped and painted.

A normal body shop charges at least around $2000. That comes out to 40 hours of labor, but that may be an underestimate on the number of hours needed. Most cars need 2-4 weeks to get a good paint job. You always get what you pay for. Maaco usually uses the cheapest Dupont paint, which is not the same as their higher lines. Most of their paint jobs are single stage enamel (clear coat is mixed in with the base). All good body shops will use a separate clear and base coat. I just had my WRX side skirts painted, and we actually needed three layers. First the base, then a separate pearl coat, then a clear coat above that. You always get what you pay for. Some Maaco's may be decent, but I personally would not risk ruining my factory paint by getting a cheap paint job.

2-4 weeks to paint a car??? maybe if they are doing some major body work or fabrication but no car should take 2-4 weeks to paint

just got my car back from Maaco, I was surprised.. didn't come out all to bad.. a little dissapointed at the color though. Didn't really come out the way I thought it would. I wanted it a little darker than it is. Gonna take some pics of it tomorrow cause of the stupid NY weather, f*ckin rains an hour after I get the car home. :-( anyway.. gonna post some pics up tomorrow for everyone to see.
