49783, Power mirror question...
Posted by whatisyousayin, Jun-08-03 08:41 PM
I have a 97 RS that has manual mirrors. Is there a way I can install either a.) power mirrors from a GS or b.) aftermarket power mirrors. I heard that if you have a non-power model then there's nothing that can be done... anyone have any insight?

Thanks in advance.

shouldn't be that hard to add them. it's just running the wires into the car that's a PITA. i went from power nothign to power everything (except mirrors). still tryna decide if i ever wanna add mirrors....

i think a power mirror mod is about as important as an air conditioned glove box... i have an RS but i do have power windows (thanks MCUBED and FARMDOGG!! :thumbsup ) and i have some LED mirrors. no need to get powered as they will stay in place once you set them. IMO, i don't think its worth all the hassle of putting in power mirrors... trying to get those wires thru the door is RUFF! but it can be done...

best of luck in whatever you decide to do! :thumbsup

You know what... you're right.... Here's my next question, how easy was the install with the LED mirrors?

Just run the wires inside the door through the boot, under the fender and tap into the turn signal wires. It plain and simple. I did mine that way.

power mirrors are nice to have, but a PITA if it breaks. My switch for the mirrors are kinda on the fritz now. its a real pain in the ass.
