search here at 2gnt and at dsmtalk.com its been heavily discussed about a dozen times on each forum...it will answer any questions you might have if you just take the time to search and read. ill tell you this, its not cheap...very few shops will even touch a project liek this...and if you wanna do it yourself youd better be a master at everythig and i do mean everything...its not as easy as hacking out a section of roof. study up :)

I'd say first step would be securing a good loan. Seriously tho, I think it's totally cool, just nothing I could imagine trying to do. Has anybody tried this starting with a Spyder and grafting on a hacked up roof and hatch from a hardtop? I'm sure it would be just as big a job and probably even more expensive, but would maybe solve the structural rigidity issues? I'm thinking more about the drivability and long term reliability of the finished product than the practicality of the actual project.

you just hit the nail right on the head. thats the only "safe" true way to do it. but your car would weigh in over 3500lbs. You'd not want to be so focused on racing the vehicle after that hehe

Hey bro i feel where your comming from i did some mass research in all this and got my ass chewed for a few dumb questions. It looks good from the few that i have seen complete. Its a great idea and all but you will weigh too much to be able to do anything but be a show car. Kinda lame in my opinion. So heres my advice which is what i am going to do. Buy a Supra bro, if you really want a targa go supra. Im gonna keep my eclipse though b4 someone gets pissy. I love my eclipse and would never give it up but i want a cruising car. Thats my advice but if you do all the research and have the mass cash to spare for it, go for it bro.
