The new front says 95 on it after they told me it was 97-99 and the site even says it. Bodyshop said it'd take a lot of shit to make it work. I refuse to go down to the foggy 95-96 headlights. I just don't like them as much. The site says no restocking fee, but my receipt says like 15%. WTF? This place is garbage now. Forget my quick delivery and pre-drilled holes. They have some serious issues with policy and knowing what years the shit is for. :rolleyes

Its really not that hard to make it fit for the 97-99 headlights. The people you took it to obviously...
A - don't have a good knowledge of fiberglassing this type of fill-in
B - are looking to make more out of you then they should
C - just don't want to be bothered with it

But I fixed my front bumper and it didn't take but 20 minutes.

So ask around...that is my 2 cents.

not all 95-96 lights are foggy. You could pick a pair of them up cheap and then open them up and painted them black or body color. just my opinion

If he is the effin man, then just have him fill in the gaps. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard of a gap to fill. Its not like molding or attaching a bumper from another car. If he doesnt want to do it take it somewhere else. Lots of people have that gap filled.

he just put it into perspective. It's gonna take time- he'd have to cut the bumper apart and remold it and shit. Time and money sucks when u have a show next weekend. I'm trying to get this shit fixed fast. Old front - fangs= what I'mma have.

a respectable shop could do that in a few hours man....Hell, i bet you could pay someone at Maaco to do it :p. Try a different shop or tell the Do0d to quit being a bitch and get to cuttin and glassin.

already refunded and they are faxing the return address deal. So, I'm going back to what I had. there were other probs with the front besides the 95-96 lights. The sidemarkers wouldn't fit for shit either. I need the car back for a show and the guy just didn't have time to fix my car and redesign a fucked up front. I'm confident enough about his skills to say he is probably in the top in the country. If you don't believe it, keep going to maaco. I'll go get my good bodywork done. I'm not going anywhere else. Dude is gonna hook me up with a targa top and he's gonna paint the whole car for CHEAP. Why fuck that up over a front bumper? I'm not going to. :rolleyes

Wait...Wait...just a minute. Your gonna let a guy targa top your car and paint it, but he's scared of playing with a little fiberglass? I agree with everyone else, if he was the effin man then he'd jump on it and be done in a day. Do what you want but I'd be weary of a shop who's scared to 'glass but will cut the hell out of your car.

the top shops in body work can spend a day or two and mold u a completly custom front bumper or whatever u need they aren't afraid of glassing things...

i put 97 headlights on my 96 bumper and TRUST me that gap would not be hard to fill. Ive seen much more difficult jobs.

your body shop guy sounds like a mechanic who can do an engine overhaul but says changing oil is too hard.

Id be very VERY worried about letting that guy do a targa top on your car. :wary

he said the gap was horrible. Maybe it was just a really bad fit? I dunno. I really don't care. I've seen his work. He's not some dumbass like u guys seem to think. Whatever tho. You'll see soon enough.

As far as your predicament with the bumper. If he can't or won't take the time to fix a mini gap for the headlights youshould seriously rethink having him targa your car. Dude I have fixed a shitty kit for a teg in one day. The kit was to wide for the car and the headlights didn't even come close to the holes. So I cut 1" out the the center and glassed it togather and slaped some filler on there DA it down and shes ready to go. 5 hours tops and thats with paint. The car came out great

Let's keep it on topic and not talk about girls in int/ext. Honestly, if your body shop cannot fix a headlight gap (or does not want to), they have serious problems. Any shop down here will fix a headlight gap for 50 to 100 dollars. It takes at most a couple hours, and it only takes longer time since you need to wait for the fiberglass to dry. During the drying phase, he can even work on other cars. Maybe his shop doesn't usually work with fiberglass? There are some shops like that. But if that's the case, are you sure the shop is truly competent to do a targa top? Is it going to be all metal? I would assume they would need to round the edges with bondo/fiberglass?
