4836, Widest Rims??
Posted by 97CustomGS, May-30-01 06:56 AM
What's the widest size rims we can put on our cars without causing problems and without modification?

How about WITH modification? (and what modification would it take and what size would it allow)

Thanks guys!

I don't think anyone has tried anythign larger than 8" wide, and on a very lowered car you'll probably need rolled fenders or rolled and flared fenders.

I wouldn't be lowering my car so that fenders overlapped the tires (at least not until I get out of Michigan), so the fenders shouldn't be much of a problem.

However, my 2 favorite rims are both 8.5" wide in the 18" size, which is the size I'm getting. (I personally think 17s are too small)
