Posted by eclipse_gs_1512, May-18-03 04:04 PM
i decided that i was gonna have that bumper on no matter what.....so i fitted it tonight to get an idea of how much work i have ahead of me. i think it's gonna fit pretty good!

has anybody painted their own bumper? if so, what do ya need(besides paint and stuff) and how did it come out? tia!

here's a couple pics:

I would say that you would be further ahead paying someone else to paint it unless you are planning on painting a lot of other stuff as well. First you will need to get the stock black auto paint, auto clear, and a paint gun. I know you can rent the paint guns, but they aren't that cheap to rent. Plus you have to have a steady hand and know how much to apply. You can mess up paint real easy. You can try it if you want but this is just my 2 cents.

yeah, i've been thinking about it tonight....i'll probably end up getting all the fitment done myself and then send it down to my shop and have them paint it real fast for me. thanks for the input!

I painted my sideskirts by myself using just regular krylon spray paint. Came out really good, but I would recommend having a shop paint it for you.
