How does that work? Is it easy? Im jsut wondering...do you just sand it down and bondo it? Keep up the good work. Man you have my respect, doing all this stuff yourself.

step 1: sand, dust, and remove all grease with alcohol

step 2: primer (if necissary), mix bondo, lay bondo on surface, amking sure to spread in a fashion that wont leave air bubbles

step 3: sand, "cheese grate", sand, sand some more, sand, move to finer grit, sand, sand some more, etc...

step 4: whoops, theres some air bubbles/i sanded too much. lay more bondo

step 5: sand, sand, sand some more

thats pretty much it. the main thing to do is spend PLENTLY of time on the details (i.e. SANDING!), and to not worry when you first lay the bondo and say "oh shit, this isnt pretty".

its looking good, BTW. :thumbsup

you need to grind the paint off first or else it wont stick properly, youll go over a speed bump and your molding will fall off

how i did it was this ..

1. sand off all the paint to metal
2. i put paper like an inch down from the top of the sideskirt to keep shit from falling on it
3. lay down maaad bondo about 3 inches up (Doesn't matter if it looks grimy)
4. let it dry like 5 mins
5. hit it w/ 30 grit and attack it till it's sorta even w/ the sideskirt
6. hit it w/ 36 grit and attack it some more and shape it a little bit try to get the top end down even w/ the paint a little more
7. see little cracks and holes in it? fill it w/ dabs of bondo and hit it w/ 50 grit
8. keep repeating until it's really nice
9. hit it w/ 220 grit
10. smile because your done like 3 - 4 hours later and covered with bondo dust :)

oh well i gotta go to work now .. later .. it's nice its getting dark later now so i can get outta work at 4:30 and work for 4 hours on my car heh :)
