Yah,i got the passenger side fit very well, but the driver side where the fender cap meets the skirt is kinda gapped. Now I need to find a way to make the top back of the skirts stay flush with the car better.

Long story on the skirts, but to sum it up, I paid i think $75 for some 95-96 ones, and I traded them to a guy for the silver 97-99's.

Looks great although I would recommend getting some door caps just to complete the look.

Ick, no way will I get doorcaps. Makes the car look pregnant.

>get rims
Buy some for him and I'm sure he'll put them on!
My car looked pretty damn close to yours at one point. Stock RS with 14's and just side skirts. You find good deals along the way. I got stock silver handles for $35 and my wheels for $500. Front end was cheap because of a few mishaps and voila! Not a whole lot done to my exterior yet it looks pretty nice IMO.

Yeah, being poor sucks. But I'm keeping my '96 RS heritage. Mirrors and handles are staying black, and the front and rear are staying 95-96. Only exception is if I can get some silver European mirrors. Then when I can afford it, my wing gets painted and the excess holes get shaved, then someday when I'm rich, some 99 OZ rims. Oh and somewhere in there is a turbo kit =P

hey man, the 97-99 skirts on the 95-96 eclipses are mad nice....they add just that little length to the side skirt which looks higher on the 95-96 stock side...How was the install with them? did u put them on yourself and how many holes did u have to drill? im really thinking about getting them for my car and i def like them without the doorcaps, makes them a little different from the younger 2g's
|
48134, RE: Finally! I got skirts! Posted by EclipzeGamer, May-21-03 06:04 PM
I think I put 12-14 screws in total, half on each side. I just drilled the holes and put in the screws. One tip: don't push it up too tight when drilling the holes, I found that when you bolt it down and it's pressed too tight to the car (esp. the rear part that goes up behind the door), the skirt pulls away from the car leaving gap. Now I just need to get some double sided adnesive to keep the top rear of the skirt from pulling away from the car.
