there IS a bulb in the dimmer switch i was the one that origninally asked about this .. theres no REASONABLE way to get to it without spending huge hours trying to take out the switch .. you have to take out the whole dash and everything .. so i took out the plug from behind it and cut the ground so the light would turn off .. no more orange dimmer with hvac mod now :) ..dimmer function still works too

lol ok i guess that bulbs just burns out for most people? mine sure don't work if it's in there... :P

oh yea, did anyone notice that the dimmer switch is a lot less effective w/ the LED's when you do the HVAC conversion? like the fully lit and the fully 'dim' settings aren't all that noticable. i think it just hasta do with the response of the LED's the change in voltage though.

Got mine with 23(!) miles on it and the switch never lit for me either! :P Got a 97 in Sept of 96. What years have the light? (not that I'm gonna do anything about it)

BTW - when you turn the brightness up all the way, does your switch click at the end, like it has a second switch in it? (Like old school cars where you would turn it up all the way and then click over to turn on the dome light?) Anyone use it for anything? :wary

Yeah, it does click like it is trying to turn on the dome lights, but it doesn't. I wish it did.

mine don't click... i'm pretty sure..
haha more discrepencies! mine never lighted either but my car had 110k when i got it last year.
i wish the switch functioned like that but if you look at it, it doesn't actually even dim the domelights like in other cars... i'm actually gonna add a switch for my interior lights (possibly a dimmer switch). that way i can turn them off when the door's open (including the ones by your feet) and also turn them on w/ the door closed. shouldn't be too hard to wire - i've already tapped into it for the domelight supervision on my alarm. plus since my headliner's out i'm gonna run an extra set of wires from my domelight to control possibly a neon to light up the back seat. it's gonna be wired to that 'door' switch on the domelight and will function the same.
