I was wondering if I can paint my car using this type of paint spray gun...
Its a cheap one from eBay for $20..
Its electric, and looks like it can hold a pint of paint..

Aren't paint guns at paint shops ran by an air compressor? So, this won't be up to par as those guns.. correct?

Will the paint get stuck in the nozzle?

No not really. Paint guns are ran by air. I use an HVLP gun that is OK. It's a craftsman and it gets the job done. A buddy of mine works for a body shop to pay for college and he has a DeVilbiss(sp). I know there is another gun company that makes top quality stuff too, but the DeVilbiss is widely used. BTW, a gun big enough to do a complete is like $500, but are also internally regulated and use paint VERY effeciently. Also buy about 2-3 fenders that are junk and practice ALOT, esp with the color and type of paint you are planning to shoot. I know some guys who can make single stage paints look like $3000 paint job and some other guys who can make basecoat/clearcoat paints look like kindergarden finger painting. There is ALOT of technique and knowing your equipment. I would compare it to welding. A good weld looks nice and performs well, a bad weld looks poor and performs the same. Same with paint. If you don't take into account humidity, temp, wind, area, not to mention which chemicals to use (trust me there are plenty to choose from), then you will be up shit's creek. But if you plan on doing your own work and investing in some decent equipment, then you can save alot of dough in the long run(not really the short though).
