45447, refinishing wheels color question Posted by Erik, Apr-20-03 06:14 PM
I have the burgandy color car and I was thinking about painting the wheels like a bronze color. BTW a wheel has some curbage and I'm gonna sand them all down and shoot them with a different color. Opinions?

sanding them may rough them up or scratch them. Maybe you need to bead blast them and powdercoat them or something.

I was thinking like a 320 dry and then a 400 wet sand. Since that is what I did on my bumpers and fenders before they got shot. I was also thinking of white instead of bronze. Anybody?

I would say bronze. If you went white you'd have brake dust issues and they would throw off the warm red color you got going on now. If not bronze, maybe a dark gunmetal or a high gloss black. Maybe go nuts and do the outer face of the rim black, but do the sides and back ground burgandy like the car... just some ideas...
