45402, headunit won't work (long) Posted by mitsuman297, Apr-19-03 06:17 PM
I know this probably belongs in the audio section but here it goes. Last night my stereo was working fine. I turn it off for the night. I get in my car this morning and my headunit won't turn on. I thought that was strange. So i took it out and checked all of the connections and the fuses and they are all fine but the headunit still won't work. The only problem is my lights on my mirror won't work either. The fuse for that under the hood just keeps blowing (this just started today). I can't find any shorts anywhere and now i'm pissed and don't have a radio in my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Josh

heres one out of left field...
do you have a detachable faceplate? try pushing on the faceplate a little and see if it turns on. sometimes when the weather changes or whatever the faceplate can become slightly disconnected, causing the unit to power off. ive noticed this on a few older sonys and clarions. this probably wont help, but hey, might as well try it out.

sounds like you either put a + wire to the frame, or lost a ground wire. Check speakers connections
