45024, damn kids... Posted by coppereclipse95, Apr-15-03 11:20 AM
Well, some assholes decided to do some drawing on my hood...its scratched pretty good...;(
Now, i guess i need to start looking for a new hood. I'm thinking about getting a carbon fiber hood. I was wondering about quality and fitment. Do i need to shave the sides to make them fit? or just plane and simple bolt on? Are they strong against weather? Any cracking? Do i need to do some clear-coating on it? And the most important, where to get one? like brands, price and stuff.
I've seen many people talking about VIS. Any other cool place that fits and quality being good??? please let me know...

my deductible is $500. So i thought just buying one would be cheaper than reporting it to them

$1000 installed?? I paid $500 plus some change for my vis extreme gt C/F hood locally and it only took like 10 mintues too install by myself. It's just four bolts off then back on.

Sorry to hear about your hood. When I hit a deer insurance money paid for my VIS hood. It's normally 500 plus shipping but I paid 500 so try not to spend more then that. VIS has best fitment but I would still get hood pins just to be safe even though Im to lazy to get them. Good luck. -Dave

Im pretty sure its legal, ive been pulled over plenty of times and all the officer said was "at least u have ure front license plate on"... I just twisty tied it to the radiator hoses on the front of our cars and rested it there, looks a lot better than stickin off the front of our bumpers.. (Oh, sorry to steel your thread, just a quick post)... :thumbsup
