i just did this a little while ago (8-9 am) so i'll have to wait until tonight to know how well it worked. this is what i did:

stock projectors for our cars come with H3 bulb which is a foglight bulb.
stock headlight bulb is a 9006/9005 series


i took out the H3 and wired up the 9005 (no 9006 laying around) to the projector and got it secured. so tonight if all goes well i'll have better visibility at night. after all i am now using 9005 compared to H3. i'll let you guys know.

How ironic too, I just purchased my 4th set of H3's (about 10 min. ago) within 6 months (do to them bursting one at a time).

That kind of heat you'll be lucky if they last a month imo. A big heat blister in the outer lens would only be cool in a Discovery channel sort of way.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree. I think those bulbs are going to give off way too much heat and really mess up your headlights.

if they do, i'll get my buddies stock headlights since he likes his projectors better. i'll let you guys know how it goes.

well what about the dual projectors? i know they were using the same type of setup as the single projectors but they used the stock bulbs. i mean afterall, it is still apc that made the dual's and my single ones are made by ks. so i guess we'll just have to see. also, might it be better to use the 9006 since the tip of their bulbs have the grey ish on them? thanks

i just used the metal tabs. i just bent them a little so they would keep the bulbs from moving.

yes but how did you wire them>>

used female connectors and stuck one on each of the bulbs connectors (one positive and one negetive) and i wired the positive to the power wire and the negitive to the metal clip that holds the bulb in place. hope that helps.

you should shave that metal piece that blocks most of the light. I dont think it will work right, since the 9005 give off the light to the sides and the h3 spray the beam to the fron, kinda hard to explain my justifications

Yeah every time I replace one fog light the other blows! I just leave them off now!x(

well i pretty much gave up on everything tonight for 2 reasons.

1. due to the length of the 9005 bulbs, they lose all their lighting ability and also note what chrsler kid said.
2. last night one of my hiper bulbs went out and tonight the other did. so after 2 days better bulbs die and stock reigns victorious.

hell, if i can just get my hands on some cheap OEM ones i'll probably just do that instead. or if i can get a cheap HID get and rig something up. we'll see.

I told you when you get those projectors in pass by the job and see if my buddy can rig up one of the HID kit he got off the audi's:(
