4494, Japanese European Eclipses Posted by 97eclips, May-21-01 03:08 PM
LAST EDITED ON 21-May-01 AT 08:15 PM (PST)Hey, I know there are differences between american eclipses and other market ones. Mainly I am interested in getting the foreign market electric sideview mirrors. These are the ones that fold inward for parking on close city streets. Anyone know where to get a set of these including all the controls? Also what other differences are there between markets? There probably arent many since the car was built in America for America but there still may be so interesting JDM or EDM parts. Heres a crashed example from Europe, notice the sideview mirrors.

don't know where you can get the mirrors (try Japan ;) ) or maybe GSwede on this forum can get them for you.
you also gotta sell your front and rear bumper and get the 95 style along w/ a tsunami front lip cause they never changed over. in Japan, they also came with the option of hid headlights in the shape of the fto headlihgts, in which case you also need to get a different hood. Then, you gotta get the taillights, which are like ours but w/ amber reflectors on the sides.
finally, the easiest part, you gotta swap your engine and tranny for the 4g63 n/t engine and mitsu tranny :)
HAVE FUN

Well first of all:
Those mirrors must be japanese only cause the euro ones doesnt have them....we have more rectangulare style on ours....check here http://w1.660.telia.com/~u66003500/Frontside1.htm
This is how the european Eclipse came... equipped with mirrors like this.
The amber taillighs I can get ..new 350$ + shipping..so I dont think anyone wants to buy them at that price...and used are hard to find since there are not too many Eclipses around here....
And one more thing..the guy who posted that pic above...where did you find it? Do you have the addy ? Can I have it since if its in Europe I can get parts from therte perhaps?Mail me at roger@zatzy.com

I still want that FTO front kit... time to find a dealership in Japan. I hope they are better to deal with than American dealerships... -=B-=
