but least you going to pay for it right ... least you will have the satisfaction knowing that you paid for it yourself out of your hard earned money .... if not must be nice to have someone buy evening thing for you and not have to work.

lol i pay for everything on my own .. im just 19 and only have a debt card and a credit card with 500$ limit and the online stores can't 'validate debt cards' so i used my moms card.. i'm paying her today for it .. im self made :) it's more satisfying.. it's just amazing how much u can rake up without even realizing...

^^^i hear that completely!!!! i bought my car myself and i've paid for every single mod myself. and you're right it's soooooooo much more satisfying. makes me feel a little better knowing that there are more people out there that have to do it the hard way like i did.

yeah i bought the car from a dealer .. my mom cosigned the loan for me to help me get it and i've just been paying the payments every month and my mom let me put the car under her insurance so it's 80$ a month for full coverage .. thats the only two ways shes helped me and i'm thankful for that .. but besides that like i said i've done everything my self .. try to do all the work myself also to save money .. i had to pay to have the engine rebuilt that blew (2700) but even that i paid myself .. it does feel better .. alot better .. it makes me proud of my car cause i put so much work into it .. instead of this rich kids who drive like jerks crash and mommie buys them a new car ..

just my 2c

yeah, i can't stand the fact that parents go out and buy their kids brand new mustangs, corvettes, eclipses, etc...and then buy them another brand new one after the crash the first one. when i graduated back in 99 from my highschool, i remember some of the kids i knew getting new bmw's and whatnot for graduation. WTF??? oh well, at least we know we're better off in the long run.:thumbsup

^^^^^^ yeah, i had to start out with a 90 buick skylark!!!!!! i had to fix that car after crashing it (heh, 5-10mph) i was then given my talon with 138k miles on it!!!! lucky bastards

my parents made me get a job when i was 14 so that i could buy myself something when i turned 17. so when i turned 17, i bought my dad's old 1986 toyota celica gts....the car had 140k on it when i bought it from him. it was def. a beater, but damn that thing was badass. it took a freaking beating and kept coming back for more.

*worst beating it received was....having my sister learn stick on it*

i finally bought my eclipse back in july of 2001 after i got in an accident with the celica. it wasn't worth fixing....so i figured that having saved almost 16k, i could afford to get something nice.

yea my first car was a 1990 maxima i bought for 1400 .. definately got beaten down .. i blew the transmission and crashed it so many times .. but i'm glad i got that out of my system before i got my eclipse .. yeah when i was in high school tho there was kids who were getting bmw drop tops .. like 97 supras (one girl) eclipses all bought for them .. this one kids parents even bought him a goddamn navigator with 20s!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well i wouldn't trade my life for anything tho ..being poor(er) definately builds character :)

I'm thought maybe you would have gotten mad buy that I'm glad you realized that I was just asking and not trying to put you down or anything... I've worked my ass off getting what I got which isn't much but hey least its sumthing I still have the fist truck I ever bought 90 chevy silverado 4x4 she has 236,000 miles or so. I know how ya feel I went to school with guys driveing brand new rides they smash it and mommy and daddy forks over money for a new one... drives me crazy but, I'm with the rest of you guys I'm happy to know that everything I own has came by the sweat of my brow...

I still have my insurance with my mother lol its better to pay $60 a month instead of $300 a month

i wouldn't mind driving a bmw if my mom bought it for me-then again its not gonna happen!lol

my mom let me use her visa to order from howell for my turbo kit during christmas. i worked 14-17 hour days for three weeks during christmas break and i had all of the 2100 debt paid off!

i guess that's why i luv my car-(I will love even more when the turbo goes in). paid for all of the mods myself. it different i guess when you actually pay for you carp without mommy just giving it to you.

there this dude in my west civ class. he has a bmw(paid by parents), lowered and everything. fucking nice and clean-modded but not ricey.

Yeah, my grandparents bought me my first car, my eclipse. But it wasn't just handed to me, it ws actually a bribe. I went to pubic school my whole life, but they wanted me to transfer to a private school. their bribe was a new mustang, but after I started at the new school, I liked it, and I didn't want them to spend that much. I wanted better gas mileage, and something older so insurance would be less. I'm glad i did. But at least I pay for my own mods. my parents would never do that.

i went with pacesetter .. the black ones ... went on easy and it sounds mean and nice gains .. me and my one friend who has a ahh i think golf or something we used to be neck and neck racing and then he'd pull like half a car again .. last night i raced him again (headers/aem cai) and i spanked the shit outta him .. i'm talking like 3 - 4 car lengths ahead .. especially when i hit hit 4th shit pulled crazy hard ahead of him ..you should of seen the smile on my face... yeah well with pacesetter also i let it burn most of the black crap off (it will burn off) then just hit it w/ a wire brush and then painted it w/ high temp paint blue and threw a machv blue wire loom kit (And with my blue aemcai) shit looks good as hell ..:) .. i think it was DEF worth the money and i'm happy i got that over the 500 or whateva $$$ greddy..

i cant really say i feel good aboout paying for everything myself....and that i feel more proud paying for it rather than having my parents pay for it....cause my parents never payed for anything so i dont know how that feels.:7

I gotta be honest. If someone payed for all my shit I would feel a hella lot better about it. :P Shit, I'd be boosting on the high note right now. Oh well, you gotta play the hand that you were dealt.
