Has anyone gotten one?.. if so how good was the installation? how much did it cost and what are the +/- points?

also... Is the stock sunroof follows the curves of the roof or is it flat?

Well I have an aftermarket Top Slider. So far I like it. the motor is a little loud and it doesnt open as far as a factory one does. It also doesnt have a sliding cover but I wont bitch too much. The dealership where I bought the car had it installed for free for me. It hasnt leaked (knoocking on wood right now) and I have had no problems. It is contoured to the roof too so it looks pretty good. All in all considering what it would take to add a factory roof to my car I figure it was worth it. Inside the car there is just a finished hole in my roof covered by glass. Doesnt look too bad.

i have one. it is ok, it only leaked once during a MAJOR rain storm last summer. it's very nicely done and i think was worth it. it goes good with the roof, but like someone else said, it doesnt open as far back as the stock one. all in all, i do like it very much though and would get it put in again in a heartbeat.

Nothing. The dealorship did it for free. :-) I was quoted thought $1,000 though to have installed in my old grand prix.

yeah i had the dealership do it before i bought the car. it came out real nice, adn is better than the stock one in that it doesn't leak!! 3 yrs old, and absolutely no probs. the only difference(from the exterior) is that it has a small molding around the framework b/c it sits a bit higher on the roof(looks like a slight bulge) than stock. the stock ones are totally flush w/ the top of the roof. you can't tell the diff at all, and no one(even at 2gnt meets) has seemed to notice that it's different. i think it was $700 added onto the price of the car. i'll take a pic of it if you want

Well i install sunroofs at my shop, and normal retail of our power roofs, is around 600-650. Aftermarket roofs are a PITA to do, and it takes a lot of skill to make them look like a factory install. After installing these things for several years, i'll tell you this. I prob wont be putting one on my car :o Its not that they are bad, or leak(if done right) its jsut that you break the sturctural integrity of the car. Our cars aren't as bad as others though, where you hvae to cut out bracing and whatnot. We have had several issues with some power roofs installed way back, whre part of the glass runners have broken. No huge big deal to fix with new parts, but now the roof has been discontinued, and no more parts avaiable! The company had merged with another company,and no replacement parts. Now we have to redo the damn roof. So just be aware of what you buy and what brand. IMO, dont buy anything else but Stretchform (SFC) or ASC roofs. Those are the best quality ones out now(from my personal experience).
