Anybody here do there own fiberglass work? Know any good books or websites for making your fiberglass projects?

Well let me know what you are planning on making... Depending on this you can make your mold in different ways and use different material... First off you are never going to make a professional mold... The mold you do make, plan on using once and never again. I made a mold for a fender flare... Each one turned out differently then the one before and took modifing. Anyways. Theres not a lot of information out there. Unless you know where to look... making something out of fiberglass for a car and making a fiberglass boat or boat repair is the same thing. Theres a lot more info out there about boat building then for cars. So try doing searches for that... Also you can buy fiberglass in bulk for cheaper through boat dealers. If you are making like a speaker box or something simular then you wont have to many troubles, if you are panning on wide boding your car (like me) then plan on a long haul... Ive been down since early january and im about done with oneside. So basically things are different depending on what you are planning on doing.... Heres some websites for you to try...

First two talk about builing speaker boxes and the last is about boats... Just remember to take what they are saying and apply it to what you want to do with it.

i just finished my version of a rmdsm lip. I molded it first w/sheetmetal, then w/bondo to add some form, then w/aluminum flash tape, then with putty, and then a smooth layer of glaze. Making the mold is the hardest part, because i had to do mine free air'd. Then make a female mold w/fiberglass, then the male final piece. I am also making some identical side lip front things like someone posted a while ago, they're like those front bumper side wings, they're turning out amazing, it's definately fun, but very time consuming.
