Well I suck at painting so it has quite a few flaws but it looks OK I think.





I still have to clear coat it and put it in. This is just the top section.

I will prolly put a sticker on it to hide some of the imperfections.

did you sand down the ridges at the joints?
looks good... i bet it's pretty good with cutting out the heat from the engine.

Yeah actually I filled up the rest of the pipe to match the larger parts of the elbows. I think it came out pretty nice. Just got my first coat of clear on it and it looks even better.

If it wasn't so much work, i bet you could make those and sell them.

if its pvc, and not abs... i wudnt recommend it...

looks tight tho..

pvc heats up, and gets into your engine, nasty chemicals and such...

abs is the plastic that can handle higher temps w/out messin up your internals..

It was alot of work so I don't think I will be doing it again anytime soon. It was really just a bit of practice for me as far as working with fiberglass and such so I can get my stereo install done.

After about 30 minutes of driving after I first put it on I stopped just to feel it and it was actually cold to the touch. My engine was plenty hot but the intake was cold. It was about 50 degrees outside but even at that my AEM used to heat up a bit.

Anyhow I hope to have it actually installed this weekend and I will post more pictures then.

I think that if you get the PVC hot enough to outgas, then you will have other issues at hand other then some nasty gasses... you would have some molten intake sensors and a really hot intake stream.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Fitment was a bit of an issue.... I had to replace the battery tie down with a strap that goes under the metal battery tray and tightens from the top. But other than that it worked out pretty good.
