ok let me give u guys the heads up on my situation. my girlfriend bought me for christmas the tyc flat black tail lights.. which as u can tell i was very happy. so with out delay i put them in ... i loved them .. but after the first rain ... the unleakable tyc's leaked .....so we returned them to nopi and got a new set ... good customer service and a happy john. after another install and a sealing job they went in... these leaked worse than the other pair.. now i was fuming.. once again i sent them back but this time the flat blacks were on back order .. so the rep sent me the black chrome housings which i loved even more... with this pair i sealed them over twice and left nothing to chance so i thought ... i even car wash tested them and they didnt leak .. whooohooo so i proceeded with the drilling of the center piece ... everything was in order and they were in for about 1 month when i looked the other day and the back left light was all foggy ... i turned red. last night i took them out and sure enough water poured out of three small clips behind the gasket behind each reflector. our good friends at tyc applied epoxy but just a dab. these lazy bastards..went as far as to put it on there and didnt even do it correctly ... so im currently using a hair drier to dry and i will personally seal those holes myself ... justa little fyi for tyc owners .. and btw my seal job didnt leak ...

my old alteza would take on water. i ended up drilling a small hole in the corner closest to the 1/4 panel so it would drain . it would never collect water in it after that.

damn altezzas...they are all made shitty...the red lenses in mine popped out on both tailights.

ok so i resealed the new holes that i found ...and guess what ... the expoxy leaked through on to the brake lens and onto the clear plastic ....gowddamnit !!i was so pissed .... i cant win with these things ... but i tested them and they dont SEEM to leak anymore so i guess thats the price i had to pay

My tails havn't leaked in 3 years. Hmmm. :P

With all the hassel do you still think they are worth it? Just seeing that you think now that you know all the troubles.

i havent had mine leak...i got the nakayama 3rd gen tails. the only thing that leaked was my center peice...but i soon replaced it with the stock center again. iv had mine for a year.

was this whole experience worth it ? yes and no.. yes because nopi was really considerate and kept sending new lights and no because of the sheer annoyance of everything. but i did learn how to seal up tyc's lol and flea man my cars a sexy ass spaceship beeeatcccch and the center still lights up !@!:rolleyes
