hey guys. anyone notice how dark the back seat of our cars is at night? like the dome light doesn't light up back there well at all. idk it's just a pain sometimes when i'm looking for something back there. anyways i was just wondering if anyone found a good way to put some light back there. somethin kinda discreet. i'm not sure where it would be good to mount something either... like if i put in something i want it to look clean. hmmm.. just wondering if any of you guys had done anything or had any suggestions. tia!

Im probably gonna get flammed for this, but I plan on putting blue neon rings around the 6x9s back there... Im gonna have the tubes BEHIND the pannel, so just the glow comes out of the grill. Should look good with my white-coned Infinity's.... and light up the backseat.

hehe, the power lights on my amps light up teh seat area decently... but the trunk/hatch area, hook up a tap light, or run some wires to a light and cut out a hole and stick it in the back area on da roof...

call me crazy but see if you cant get the dome assembly from an eclipse or talon that didnt come with a sunroof and stick the dome light up in there. that way not only can you use it but if your rear seat passengers needed it....thats my suggestion...and it would look really clean using OEM parts..might even look stock

LEDs... you can run some wires from the dome light to the LEDs, and mount them where you want to... that way when you open the door or turn the dome light on bang there you go...
just a thought though

Me and my roomate made our own angle eyes and now are going to use the same idea to run lighting around the interior using the same products. just bend the material around what ever you want and hook up leds to it, but keeping it hidden so it doesent look sloppy.

hmm thanks for all the suggestions guys! i was thinkin 'bout the whole speaker lighting thing too.. i still kinda like the idea (once i get new speakers..) if i did that though i dunno if i'd tap into the dome or maybe put in a secondary switch so i can turn those lights on separately as well.. that'd actually looks pretty bad w/ the back seat down with an amp mounted on the back and the neon i've already got mounted under the rear deck... hehe i like playing with lights. already did the whole HVAC conversion an even did the cig. lighter an another light where the ash tray was (got my power window controls there now). :D

Did you switch your crank windows for power? Thats what I am assuming from what you wrote. How hard is it, or how much to install? I heard that it is a bitch. I would like to get power windows and locks and maybe switch over to a GS inner door panel so I wouldnt have to move them somewhere else.

the kit including switches should run you a little less than $200. i dunno how much installation would run ya b/c i did mine myself. the hardest part is running the wires through the doors an stuff. i kept my RS skis too btw. i like havin my switches in the center better anyways. makes sense w/ manual. that where your free hand is anyways.

In planning to replace my headliner, I have been thinking about installing a custom flush mounted domelight, there's an idea.

man.. I wish I had a dome/cabin light. All I got and stuck with is the crapy lights under the rearview-mirror. Shit.. those lights dun do sh@t~!!!! I was thinking maybe to just go buy some generic dome lights.. you know the square type and flush mount them to the panel in the little window. But thats just an idea. I dun wanna blind anyone that has to try and get into my backseat.
