well i have some questions for those with carbon fiber hoods. i'm getting the visracing vs (invader) hood and i need to know if hood pins are a must or a waste. it includes the latch for hood and all so i'm asking if they are really neccessary? i'll be driving like 45-70 normally. 90 max on the highway, all depending on traffic. so let me know guys. i need to know soon. thanks.

65mph + eclipse + carbon hood w/latch - hoodpins = fucked up eclipse when the hood flies up and busts your windshield and dents your roof in. don't think it won't happen to you, because it can, even if it comes with a latch. ask evan about that one.

this hood is not the stock replacement. it's the invader style with the vent in the middle. all the air under the hood would come out the vent. insurance is paying so i'm about to say just go ahead and put them on. i'll see.

I would get them just to be safe.

I've seen too many people around town with cf hoods come flying up and smashing their windshields and ish. When I get mine, I'm for sure putting hood pins on as well.

You dont need hood pins with that hood...I have the invader hood and the way it angles for the vent that helps keep the hood down....the pins would be a waste of money...ive done 110 with my hood with the pins and there is no fluttering at all....believe me you wont need them

do it... you will feel safer when you get a wind storm, and you have to drive on the highway... 70mph+50mph gust=120mph (and your hood flyin off)..

better safe than sorry....

and when u buy pins... dont get the cheep ones... stick w/sparco, and u will never have to worry about them..i know from experience... took me 3 diff companies b4 goin w/sparcos...

Even with pins on my CF hood made me nervous the way it moved at highway speeds. No way I would drive over 45 mph without pins.

lol am i the only one hat doesnt/didnt drive without hoodpins? never popped up on me once. i went 115. (ya i know not smart) lol i forgot i had a cf hood.. but luckily nothing happened.i just like the non-pinned cf hood look. looks cleaner. there not really necissary IMHO but if you feel safer with them go right ahead. i like to learn things the hard way. :P
