40947, Did a Search....Headlight removal please! Posted by John99RS, Feb-18-03 08:05 AM
Hey Guys, I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Anyone have good instructions for headlight removal without taking the bumber off? My passenger headlight has water all in it and I'm going to replace it. Thanks

it some hard work if you do not remove the bumper, it is alot easier if you take off the bumper then the headlights, rather than just the headlights.
basically there is one screw that is behind you bumper support, and its an ass to get too, the other screws are behind the headlights on the rad support (3 i think)

I think it is easier and safer to just remove the bumper, but if you dont want to you will have to bend the bumper to get the bottom bolt on the headlights. The bolt is there, you will just have to bend the bumper (carefully) and hope you dont mess anything up.

step one: remove bumper
step two: jam your hands in the fender area to the outside of the light (where all the hoses are on the pass side, airbox on other) and take those screws in the back out (two perside) then take the ones off the top, and the ones underneath the lights on the front side) boom they slide out

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to see what I can do, but I might just remove the bumber. Also, anyone who wants the headlight after I get it out, can have it fairly cheap. It has a small chip somewhere out of site and I'm too lazy to fix it....just going to replace it instead. The headlight looks new, aside from the condensation/water in it right now.
