If you do, have you noticed your rims getting torn up? How often do you wash them to keep the salt from eating at them?

If there's salt, then once a week. I live in boston and had my rims for 2 years now and there haven't been any problems except for slipping in the snow.

yeah, me too. I live in Boston also and I have no problems with my rims. I think only chrome rims are bad to have in salty conditions.

Z-rated low-pro tires get NO grip if there is any snow. 95% of people with wheels here take them off.

I will always roll stocks in the winter. I know too many people who have f-d up their $2k wheels in winter conditions to do otherwise.

I had my dunlop fm501's on for one snowstorm... When you can't move you're car becuase of slipping, thats a problem. I have a buddy that owns Connecticut tire, so he got me a hookup on winter tires. Bought a set of 15" ford probe SE wheels, and I am set.

When I still had my 18's on I would take them off for the winter. But my stock wheels still are in great shape after 4 New England winters so I don't know how much damage the salt, the sand and weather really affect certain aftermarket wheels. If I ever get another set of rims I'll probably still take them off.
