3995, Projector Light ? Posted by HadesOmega, May-09-01 07:22 PM
I'm thinking of getting a 97 front bumper with projector lights with it. How exactly do Projector lights work? What are they're advantages. It's not as good as HID I know that. I have PIAA Super White in my car right now, would I be able to use them in the projectors low been light still? Sorry I don't know jack about projectors, all I know is that they look cool and are bright.

i would stay away from projectors for several reasons: 1-they are too dim, the way they work is a beam is shot through a magnifying lens (low beam) to make it brighter, but it results in a more concentrated beam, hitting a much smaller area, you lose all your peripheral lighting. 2-it uses different bulbs, youll have to buy H1/H3's 3-they fog up to easily. the lenses, like apc altezzas, are not OEM, do not cost $355 each like OEM, and therefore are shitty in comparison, i had a pair for a week before the fogged lenses pissed me off you can do what i did, buy some OEM 97-99's (if youre 95/96) or take yours apart and paint them, or chrome them if you wanted. you can get a set for about $200-250 in good shape.

I just bought some for my eclipse and i like them, they seem to be working just fine and i think that i can see better both wide and long range, and they look sweet. I got mine from www.procarparts.com or look on ebay.

I have seen the phantom(integra style) projectors. They are bright, look wicked, and the don't look as likely to leak. They are 240 a set at NOPI.
