I had a problem similar in my RS. There was a period of time in the fall when it rained pretty near every day for a week or two and I had this awful puddle of water soaked into my carpet, mainly under the seats and right in front of them. It smelled bad and made the windows fog up and leave that nasty white residue on the windows, whenever I parked.

I found that my altezza lights were leaking water. The two little arm chutes on the sides of trunk hatch when you open it up were the problem area. You know, that spot where the hydraulic arm doo-daddys hold up the hatch? The little chutes that connect it to the back end of the car.

I never thought much of it because that area always got soaked with water, then it would just fly out when I drove. But I had my friend watch the water while I drove forward, and it went downward and into a spot where my lights weren't sealed right. From there, it would slowly seap through the carpets and into my cockpit :(

I just used some silicone to seal it up and haven't had the problems since. And its rained like that a bunch of times and snowed like crazy and it remains dry.

So yeah, you should check that -- if its not that ; maybe get in the car and have someone spray the car with a hose and see if you can find where its leaking.

Good luck :)

My gf has that prob in her car (non dsm) and its all because of a lil break in the seal. Water leaks in and drips down into the cockpit. Bad mojo nwn. Check all seals, IMO the only way water will get in like that is if something is not sealed. Have peoples spray water at your car while you are in it and watch for problem areas.
