Hey guys, I'm kinda new here and i was wondering, can you paint a body kit before you put it on the car or do you have it put on first?

If you're just matching a simple color like black, i don't see why you couldn't. You'd just have to be careful so you wouldn't scratch it. Also, i'd test fit it first to make sure everything was right, and then take it back off to paint it.

It is better to fit the kit on the car before it is painted, so the bumper will be 'acclamated' with the front end. That way the paint wil not have to flex as the bumper gets used to the shape, because it will already be used to it.

You should definitely put it on and drive around for a bit before painting to make sure it fits right. Some of the stress points may crack and you will need to fix it so it fits good before painting.

GHETTO! Dont get laughed at too much! Haha, but a good idea no doubt. I just wouldnt do it myself! Get a friend to drive it around!

I never did that although i see many cars doing it. but my paint never cracked.

i'm currently driving around with an unpainted front/rear bumper. some shops perfer to have the kits installed then painted to avoid possible scratches.
