was driving down the street and all of s sudden the steering wheel started smoking where the turn signal is located.. i turned off the switch on the blinker and onlye the parking lights come ou. so the relay(?) in the steering wheel is gone. do any of you guys think i can get the part and replace it myself or let satan hanle it... if the latter, any idea what the cost of parts/labor would be? the high beams work but i can hear it trying to short out. i have not driven the car since this happen.
99 clipse rs 5 sp special edition.

It real easy to replace. Just take the steering column cover off (Three phillips head screws on bottom of it) then there are two harnesses that plug into the unit and only two screws that hold the unit in. One above it and one below it. Disconnect the two harnesses from the back and unscrew the two screws and it slides right out. You could probably have the whole thing out in less than 5 minutes. Very easy I would take it in and have them actually charge you to do it. If you need anymore help or explanation just hit me up.
