Not trying to flame, but recently a reply in a post said, "when I think of showcars, yours doesn't pop into my head. All I see is a car with an aftermarket front and 17's."

I want some suggestions. What can I do to improve? I am going to have a hood put on soon, front getting redone, sides, and maybe a wing, along with painted graphics.

I would rather not have, "remove flames" or remove fangs, etc. I wanna make progress and not take things off. I like where I am now, but what can I add to make the car better for shows? I am waiting on Keith to ship his rear seat as well. I sent him my seat and the GS door inserts. I have black leather door panels that will go in with corbeau blue inserts. The rear seat will also be corbeau blue. New floormats are in the works STILL. Been waiting for a while. Custom job, but they should be mass produced after I get the 1st set.
Any pointers or suggestions will be considered and are appreciated. Be honest. I know I'll get, remove flames, and/or fangs; but I will listen to only what I want to do. That's how it works. Enjoy the pics and help me out.

your car looks really good, personally though i think a spolier can make a car look a whole lot better so check into something besides that tiny stock thing. a huge wing that makes it look like its a flying... oh lets say shark? :P.

I have a wing picked out. Gonna keep it on the DL. Most have seen it tho. I know opinions will be mixed. The car will change a lot soon. It's already set in stone basically. I just wanna see what people think I should do so I know where I stand. Just for shits and giggles I suppose. I like to know what people think. People around here love my car. Some hate it, others hate on it b/c they don't own it. It's life. Opinions, assholes, everybody has one and if u don't, you're probably dead.

What I usually do: ask for suggestions or opinions. I usually have things in my head that I am set on. Opinions and suggestions give me alternatives. I sometimes mix my ideas with a suggestion. Most of the time I do what I think and ignore suggestions to avoid doing what I think others would do. Sometimes I just say, "Damn, that woulda been fugly!" and I use a suggestion. It all depends on what it is. Throw some stuff out here for me. I assure you that ur ideas/suggestions will help me in some way. :thumbsup

to make your car a show car you need some 18+" rims. side skirts, maybe aftermarket rear and some air rods

might get 18" c2 evos.(at some point) I wanna go turbo tho.(1st priority over new rims) 17's are still considered "big rims" in the show scene to an extent. They don't look too bad. I'd rather make progress than to have to buy rims when I already have a set that looks decent. Air rods will kill my driveability. I wanna have a go and show car. I've had sides sitting forever. Gonna get those on real soon. Just got to find a shop around here that does good work. :7

18's have definetely been on my mind tho. :thumbsup

17's aren't big any more. hell 18's are standard. Well if you don't want rods then shave the entire thing, fiberglass dash, and instal a turbo and present the turbo and the engine well.

^^what he said side skirts would most definetly help. And I agree turbo should come before new rims. I'm sure at a show they will notice the RS-T over the RS with 18's. Oh and yeah spoiler would help complete the look. My .02

well, i am going for show car, and let me tell you the stock spoiler is hideous, and the car looks much better without it. you need sideskirts, and IMO the flame on the side is just not as flashy as it use toi be. BUT it is your car so do it how you want

skirts, wing ,rear ,18's silver , turbo , custom interior, and lose the flames. i know u like them but they should be left for old school carz and mustangs imo. They just don't look right on our cars. Imo of course.

the interior is alright, not a huge fan of that wheel. lose the stickers, speedoptions, totaleclipse etc etc. new front, skirts, bigger or better looking wheels, maybe no wing, bomex rear maybe? thats one of the only rears i like. i dont know but im not feeling the tail light covers. they just dont match up to the lights, you know, where the circles are

from the side sig pic, i wasn't that impressed-but the front is nice. ya i'd lose the fangs but what ever makes you happy. the front is nice though (i didn't know you changed the mirrors) and when you get the side skirts and a wing, it will look better.

BUT IF YOU WANNA KICK ASS-one word= widebody

you know, molded flares... like the eclipse in the superstreet mag (three issues ago with black paint). would totally kill.

I am not sure how much "show" you want to do but here are some ideas. First would be new tails swap to something nice like s2k's but NO supra's. Full body kit molded in with some fender flares or widebody the car. your interior will be fine with what your getting from keith just maybe add some subs in a fiberglass box and maybe a nitrous bottle for show possibly even a back half roll cage for the "race" look. The engine bay will be the hardest I am not sure how bad yours is (I have some rust and stuff like that in mine) but chrome or powder coat evererything. Big rims 18+ the 17's will do but the more body work you do the worse they will look. Thats all I can think of right now good luck. EDIT shave it including handles, door caps, antenna, rear wiper etc......

I am not going for a wild class show car right now. I wanna be a heavy hitter in the mild category for now. 17's are still getting coverage, so they'll hang around a while until the car makes more progress. As for sideskirts- I have had sides for almost 2 years! Just never got around to installing.

List of parts to go on- VIS blitz type 2 sides, VIS cf invader hood w/sparco polished pins, possibly an erebuni shogun wing, hopefully painting flames pearl blue for a better shine and cleanliness. Rear seat that matches racing seats. That's it for now. I want to finish the interior up, then get turbo while finishing the engine bay. I also know that I need to replace that coolant res. with a polished res.

*note- I have been getting e-mails asking for painting steps. My engine bay is all powdercoated and polished. I didn't paint it. :thumbsup

18's, sideskirts, cf hood, rear bumper, wing, shave stickers. it sounds like you got it all setup anyways, im sure it will look a lot better once u get ur stuff. still looks good tho.

Dude, the car is VERY NICE... I wouldn't take anyting off either. As for the rims... you should get at least 18's. Ya, there standered, but it will make your car stand out a little more. Try to get sponsers. So you don't have to pay for anything else :-)

I have everything pretty much set up. I am thinking about RH evo C2's. can anyone photoshop those on for me? I'm not sure they'd look alright with my graphics and all. And I dig my graphics. If need be, the current wheels will stay. someone please p-shop these. TIA!

I'm not getting an oem hood after I JUST NOW bought the invader hood. I don't care. Things are coming together. It'll work out. I hate to sound like an ass, but I was hoping to get more ideas on things to do. NOT- the hood you JUST BOUGHT sucks, etc. Lose the front, etc. Things I have will stay on. That's all there is to it. Judges at shows seem to like my setup just fine. They haven't suggested to lose this or that. I wanna make progress, not take shit off to replace it when I already have a new front that I like. :thumbsup

Looks: Stock because looks doesnt make my car go faster or run better

I say screw the whole show crap and work on performance....see those Japs know how it goes....they actually build race cars and show them.....thats the way to go.....jump on there bandwagon...what good is a car you cant drive....tv's everywere....neon lights out of the ass and your balls....personally its not worth it....build raw power and keep your car presentable and clean and I bet you will do wonders at your little car shows

Didnt really read replies, so heres what I think.

Skirts. They are such... un noticeable things yet make the biggest difference. People put them behind bumpers and other things, but they make the biggest difference. Really adds depth and......... solid-ness to a car. From aftermarket to stock, skirts make the car look full and complete.

Turbo spoiler, or something larger than the low spoiler. Im not into big ass aluminum wings, thats why I said the turbo spoiler.

Think about just those 2 things. See what a huge difference it'd make?

I don't want a race car. It will be turbo sometime in the near future, but show is my thing. I wanna move up tho and be a heavy competitor at small and big shows. :thumbsup I'll get pics after I get body work done, then we'll see what everyone says. :7

humm..... Im gonna say..... ditch the blitz 2 sides. You need some thing wilder to match your front. Like the kombat sides. Then you need a kombat rear. Then id say get a wing like kaptin myke (sp?) It like v's out. I think if you had that combo, it would look good because it would all match.

-Get the damn skirts on already ;)
-Aftermarket rear
-18+ inch rims
-Just lil custom stuff like a gauge in a cool spot or flush mounted random things anywhere. Its funny, but lil things get you in good with judges. There is a car in a mag i read that is all green and he puts a Kermitt THe Frog doll in the passenger seat with the harnesses on at shows and they love it.
-shave it like a....well....shave it ;)
-Start work on the I.C.E. if you haven't already. Expensive but it looks nice.
-Get some nitrous, set it all up but don't fill it if you don't wanna use it. Again, it jus looks hella nice.
-Get some dummy bars, or get a custom cage made.
-Look for little one off or nifty things that may not be made for your car, or for cars at all and try to incorporate them into the car.
-Maybe get some stuff etched into your glass, don't see much of that, and it looks nice imo.


I have other stuff too, but i plan on a decent impact at local shows this year too. So i have to keep some stuff to myself ;)

Steven first thing I suggest is that you take that blue carpet out and give it to me. lol but as you can see my car started out have flames to and i loved them. This year I am going back to flames. As far as 17's go I have my Sokudos and I have no plans on upgrading to 18's. I think they look fine the size they are. All 18's are is an excuse to spend more money on tires. I think you should definately put on your sides. I have mine sitting at my house and ive had them for a grip. But they will be one soon. If you are getting rid of your floormats I might want them. and how much did you buy that carpet for?
As far as getting a rear if i had it to do all over again I wouldnt get a new rear I would get the Wings West add ons. Your car is comming along great, me and you have about the same color scheme going. And the fact that we go to the same shows is cool. We should start parking next to each other. lol. My car is undergoing alot of changes in the next couple months as well. At local shows I always clean up. But at shows like slamsession even though alot of people look at my car I dont ever get shit. But i agree to keep it mild. I hate when I get put in Wild because I know Im not. Wild is for crazy people who suicide everything like that guy Chris who has that baby blue eclipse with suicide doors. And I dont ever wanna compete against that. Your interior sounds really good. And the pics i have seen are really good. Where did you get your valve cover painted at. I wanna get mine done real bad. I just got my new engine put it cuz my last one blew and it looks like ass right now.
In my opinion you are definately going in the right direction with everything you are doing and if you are adding all the stuff you say you are then I better watch out lol. Peace Out, Jerry

id probably add some polish to the engine bay and maybe for the interior add an ebrake handle with boot? looks ok to me
and id get bigger wheels.. drop it lower, get guages, tach, etc, maybe a big brake kit for behind the wheels.. looks hella nice with guages.. maybe some indoglos and maybe some grill mesh in ur front

auto doesn't need a tach. I'd get flamed for it, and rightfully so imo.
Thanks on the flames- 17's and blue flames on silver rocks the house. :) The bay looks better in person, but changes are in the works. $$$ is the main thing. I have a lot saved, but it's for bodywork. Whatever's left will get more mods. :)

guess i'll put my .02 cents in...i would put on the rear and side skirts, mabey get some under the hood stuff powdercoated, loose the taillight covers and mabey get some carbon fiber altezas or get some regular altezas and paint the inside the same as your car and then get the inside of your headlights painted too. and i love the look of the gst/gsx wing and i'm not a big fan of them but mabey a roof scoop? oh and get me that carpet!!!!!LOL J/K! :thumbsup

18+ look better with a drop, fills the wheel well, but no you want to keep your 17's.
Don't go to Altezzas, IMO they look like hell and ruin a car's rear. I don't know about those covers you have, maybe the Euro ones with the amber corners.
You want to keep the flames, fine, I don't like flames on slow Jap cars.
A tach would be nice just so you have one, you don't need a monster 5" tach like some guys do, just a nice 2.5-3" setup on a pillar gauge pod and you can throw in your turbo gauges if you ever decide to make your car halfway fast.
Z3 fenders are played out way too much and they are gay anyway. Some guy has some with the vents like the Dodge Viper and someplace (Stillen?) sells fenders that are more like the M3 style. I like those.
Paint all your hood or don't paint it at all. 2-3 colors on the hood is going to look retarded.

I already have aftermarket wheels. Why save up and spend money on MORE RIMS, when I could get something I don't have yet? I can replace wheels later. What I have now works.

As for sides, I HAVE THEM. the body shop I went to kept putting me off over and over and it pissed me off. They kept my friend's car for like 3-4 months. I went and picked my stuff up. I just bought a hood. Why suggest getting a different one when I just paid for one. Why would I do that? Why suggest things I already have? It's pretty known that I am going to do sideskirts since I've had them sitting here a long ass time.

And for flames,etc. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have done it. It'd be off already. I don't want to take them off. It's been said 10,000 times since my time here. Why even bring it up?

And mainly, what's wrong with shooting down suggestions? I can't have 17's, 18's, and 19's, 2 different sideskirts, 8 paint colors, 3 hoods, etc. Some ideas havto get shot down. I am just hoping I can get some good ideas to work with. I'm not trying to be an asshole and be like "Fuck you, your ideas suck." Everything is good. If you like that kinda thing. I like my graphics and what I have now. Rims can wait. The car needs noticeable PROGRESS. Not spending money on things I already have.

I have a stock tach. I don't need another one. I wanna get gauges, but I pretty much should wait until turbo to get those. Hopefully, I will get bodywork, get my interior squared off, then it's all about the motor. I don't really need a crazy show car like Keith's. I have to drive this car everyday and that wouldn't be practical for me. Plus my funds are limited b/c of school. I am moving out next year also. I need to try and save some for that. I may even sell the car so I can move. I am moving to a city where car thefts rank highestin NC. Not good. If I can't get a house w/ a garage, I am selling the car or leaving it here. (then it will be good for all show.) I am at a point where I have no idea what's gonna happen in the next year.

I'm not trying to be mean here. Just trying to explain things. I wish I could please everyone, but that isn't my goal. I please myself with this, and if I please anyone else, great. If I don't, I'm sorry you don't like it. I don't wanna sound arrogant, but at the shows I have attended, I have done fairly well. Last year was an impressive year I thought. I won some shows with a large attendance. It's mostly about cleanliness, but looks come up too. I draw crowds without tv's and crazy stuff. First i want to say that i like you car and i like the flames. A set of projectors would look really good on your car the chrome ones look good on silver or get the stock ones painted inside. The only thing i would lose is the tailight covers. A set of AEM big brakes would look good on your car with blue powder coated calipers, it would compliment your wheels real nice. a set of Z3 fenders would go well with that front. that would be all i would do to the outside considering you are already planning on doing alot. i would do a little to the engine like getting chrome resivours (sp). since you have a momo steering wheel a set of momo door sills would look good in your car. also a momo e-brake cover would set it off. heck a set of diamond cut aluminum floor mats would be sweet. you could do your headliner in blue or black to match your interior i would work on the ice too like a monitor and a dvd player. thats about all i can think of that i would do to it. for the most part you have all of the big stuff done or gettin done i would pay attention to the finer details of everything stuff like that can make or break you at a car show.

IMO my car is going to look fucking insane at shows this year. I *think* I'm going to keep my street fighter 2 bumper for now and use that. Also, I am going to redo my sideskirts, get a nice nice cf hood, wings west 3 piece wing a.k.a. 3000gt wing, new exhaust, 18's at least, drop my car another inch (3"), and have a nice FMIC.

Oh yeah, for you what to do. Hmmm. Aerogear 6 vent hood, aeroduo side skirts, 18's, little lower, new exhaust, new tails, tint all around, ummmm I don't like your interior blue for some reason, I think another shade may look better. Hmmm. Steering wheel isn't bad but something doesn't look right. Stickers are gay. If you get a FMIC then loose the fangs. I dunno. The flame mats are ugly I think. I'm not a big apc flame fan. Just too much blue in the engine and all over.

I'm not going for exotic show type, I'm going for the bad-ass fast looking mean import thing. Thats why my interior is black, body mostly stock, and everything else kept clean.

the flame mats do suck. I am waiting on a company to get done with mine. After I get mine, they are going to be mass production. :) here's a pic of what they will be like. Mine are going to be black with light grey (silver) trim.

I ruin my floor mats in like 3 days so I just keep repainting mine black. All black is pimp.

if it were my car i would:
lose the apc floor mats
lose the AEM license plate fram in back
toss the "powered by mitsubishi" shoulder pads
get rid of the window stickers(if needed for sponsors then put them somewhere else and actually put some though into their placement. they look like you just stuck them anywhere they'd fit)
Get rid of the "Total eclipse" windshield banner and the
Speedoptions sticker would go too, again unless sponsored.
New headlights possibly angel eyes of some sort
mesh the front up, looks unfinished with the sides meshed but not the front.
clean up engine bay a little more. Maybe it's just a bad pic but it looks kinda dirty up in there. Then i would get the new hood and skirts put on. Other than that you car looks decent.

Whatever happened to the beauty of clean cars? I hate body kits, flames, wings, all that shit. If that's your thing, cool...but jesus it's annoying to me.

I'll tell ya what I'm gonna do. 18's, drop, factory side skirts, factory color but I'm gonna redo it so that it's 8 coat with 5 coats of clear so it's nice and deep, then do some interior mods. Then again, i'm not trying to show my car, i just want it to look damn good

here here. i'm trying to get ahold of some nice GS side skirts, then i'll do a decent paint job. i'm debating if i want to really get rid of the "turbo" wing or not. (my sig has the old pic of my car with the blitz front end, but i now have a stock 97-99 bumper). i think that most 2g's look pretty good stock, especially the 97-99 GS/GSX/GST.

but, if you really want to add to what you've already got, start off with some side skirts to complement the lines of your bumper. leave it wingless, and get some 18's. maybe SSR Comp's or something nice.
