whats a good way to get off the mitsu and other stickers off of an eclipse? and the ugly pinstripe too. ive tried but ive just ended up scratching my paint. ive heard lighter fluid helps and stuff like that but i havent tried that.

one word, goo-gone, just scrape with a plastic scraper and squirts the goo-gone over them.

u can also use regular alcohol.. i used that and a little muscle..lol..and it comes off no problem without leaving a residue or scratches on the paint..

You can also use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up a section and peel it off...then use something like alcohol or goo gone to get rid of the rest of the glue.

Go to your local professional carwash OR make friends with a body shop. Get them or yourself to use one of their high powered buffers and buff the hell out of the sides of your car, you will remove a fine layer of clear coat on the car and the pinstriping comes right off. That's what they did to my car and it looks FANTASTIC now with the pinstriping off. For the decals ane eclipse letters/name sake / trim package stickers take them off with a razor blade sideways (like you are removing a windsheild sticker or inspection sticker). Use WD-40 to remove the sticky goo.

I used a blow dryer, to get them off, then I LIGHTLY rubbed goo-gone to get the sticky $hit off.
I noticed red on the towell, so make sure you lightly rub it on and your fine. You can buy it at the local store, walmart..

you can get googone at any grocery store, or hardware store, basically anywhere, its usually in a 5-6in clear bottle, with clear orange liquid in it. it also smells like orange!!!

alright thnx everyone. hopefully i can finally get that crap off of my car now =). ive honestly never heard of goo gone or seen it but ill look at walmart when im there later this weekend. i am friends with someone in school for body work and has access to everything at the school's shop and does some pretty good work (he is probably doing my body kit) so i could take it to him but im too lazy to drive up there and drop my car off so i dunno.

I'm just gonna back up the idea of using a blow dryer. I did and it worked great. I just really don't like to use a razer blade on the paint, but I'm sure that'd work too...

The easy way:

Go to a manual carwash and use the high powered wand. Put it to 'wash' so the water is hot, and get right up on the pin stipe or stick and blast it off. It will take it off no problem. Then use goo-gone to remove the residue.

I used turtle wax bug and tar remover and alot of elbow grease.
Didn't f up my clear coat like other methods (alcohol, high pressure hot water, goo gone.) Blow dryer would be cool too use though.

umm yeah hot water or googone will not screw up the finish. water is just water, but the googone has nothing in it that removes clearcoat, the bottle says so

get at a side angle and blast them at the wash point blank. They fly off. Use goo-gone to remove like said above. :thumbsup

whoa easy there...my bad dude, didn't mean to push any buttons.
but you're right i looked at a bootle of goo gone i was just thinking harsh abrasive liquid when i posted and I read once that real high pressure water held close to the paint is bad for the finish.
but hey maybe i was wrong
