38562, Pothole Problems ( I need your help now) Posted by Aggression, Jan-15-03 09:47 AM
Hey wassup all?
Ok here is the deal. I was on my way home from work on Friday night about 2 weeks ago when I hit a pothole. Good thing I was less than a mile from my house after I hit it, because it flattened my tire. So Saturday morning comes and I take off the rim and take it to a local shop to get a new tire put on...he comes back from putting it on the rotation machine and he tells me I bent the hell out of the rim and that the rim is bent so bad its not repairable. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that might carry my 17" Silver Katana Concept 7's. I found out from calling Katana direct that they no longer make the Concept 7's so its gonna be hard to find them. I checked wheelmax and no luck. So I tried Discount tire and a bunch of other places with the same success. Getting desperate I called local rim and tire shops no one had them. So I am calling upon my fellow 2gnters for some help. If you can find one lemme know. tia

I found a couple places online that have the wheel you need. Not sure if they have them in-stock, but it's worth a try to give them a call. This place has them for $99. http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineTires.com/Katana_Concept_7.html This one is $137. http://washtire.powerfulhosting.com/prod.itml/icOid/9590 This is $125. http://www.aieonline.com/107/cat107.htm?119 Let me know if you find anything.

You might be able to get the city to pay for your new rim. My buddy in NJ hit a pot hole and messed up his rim pretty bad, well he went to the city and after a little work, they paid for the new rim. Doesn't hurt to try, huh?

when i hit a construction plate, the city refused to pay for my stock rim and another tire since they said it was to expensive. I got a check for $50 which didn't even cover my tire

Well I by-passed the city because I knew they wouldn't do anything for me...except piss me off. So I contacted VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) and sent them photos of the potholes and a written request for stating what, when, where it happened and what I wanted in return. It takes 30 days to process and I feel confident that they will fix this situation.
BTW thanks for the sites Mike. Have you heard anything on when we owe the money for our hoodies and t-shirts??? later all and thanks for you help.
