what device would make leds blink when power is hooked up, i want some leds to blink when turned on

any idea what kind of component i need?

thats what i was looking for but, damn tis like jibberish to me,

what im trying to do is hook up some leds to my brake lights circuit so when they are applied these other lights come on and then when u let off brakes it opens the circuit back up and they turn off thats simple, but now im lost with all the electronics names r3, c1 and such argh i guess i figure it out.. unless somone wants to lend a hand on this thread so i can get these parts..

so you want a brakelight flasher?

i will get you a list of components and make you a 3D model(hopefully) but i need you to look at that first link and decide what flash rate you want, also color of LED and how many perside. basically i need to know exactly what your wanting and what you want it to look like.

need a minimum of 5 leds, or 5 lit up areas the 140/min sounds good,
possibly 12 leds,

3000mcd or brighter is what im looking for some bright ones they are cheap i could wire in 4 or so trying to light up the letters talon on my car so T A L O N 5 spots maybe couple per section,

the 140/per min sounds about right i have a general knowledge of electrocis i jsut got lost in the abriviations they had on those sites i got 2 electronic books from library to help do this with...

what about this set up but instead of the 3rd brake light how ever many leds you want. they just need to be wired in parallel with a dropping resistor.

D is for diode, R is for resistor and C is for capacitor. The valus are on the bottome of the diagram, write them down, goto radio shack and tell them u need that, then connect them as shown in the figure
