3830, fitament of blitz kit
Posted by Talon, May-07-01 04:38 AM
a guy my dad knows has his own body shop. he mainly paints and replaces oem bumbpers and things like that. he said he would re-paint my whole car black with silver mirrors and silver graphics on the sides like the orange car
for 1k. this includes all paint and labor and painting my blitz kit if i get one. he says though that if it has shitty fitament then he will not install it. i needs to fit really close to oem parts or he wont install it. DOES IT FIT GOOD ??? PLEASE TELL ME IT DOES!!!! also i really like that rear from the post of new eclipse kit...would that bumper look good with the rest of the blitz kit and the z3 fenders? thanks

My front bumper fit good. It took a little bending, but no molding other than around the head lights. My side skirts need a fair amount of molding; I had to cut the back of and glass it back on, because they were too short, and I had to build it up where it goes up to the door jam on the back. The scoop was a little warped, but I just had the paint shop epoxy it on after they painted it.

Haha ok you got my attention :) The installation really depends on how well the kit fits. It depends on who you got the kit from, and which mold it was made from. Typically, you might have to modify it a bit to make it fit - I know if took our shop a day just to modify the drift side skirts to fit on the car. My blitz type 2 side skirts fit almost perfectly, but I had a small gap that I wanted to fix so I had to bondo that. The back bumper may also have gaps near the tailights so it depends on how much you care about the small details. I would say, don't pay over 200 for installation only if it includes modifications. 150 for basic install without modifications such as bondo or fiberglass. Good luck.

Hey, the kits from VIS are generally pretty good. Most people recommend them. My rear did have small gaps by the tailights. You can't expect a kit to fit perfect all the time as molds can slightly change over time. But the VIS kit would be about 825 shipped to your door if you get it through me. You can email me at eclipse804@hotmail.com if you need any info. Thanks.
