37357, protective clear paint film Posted by icjeclipse, Dec-27-02 10:39 AM
Does anyone have any experience with that 3M clear film that sticks onto car paint? Or where to buy it... My front bumper is really getting chipped up with all the freeway driving i do and i need something to protect the paint, and a bra is out of the question. Thanks

i have no idea, but what i did was buy clear engine coat and put it on my bumper. It soumds like the same deal your describing. I know 3m makes clear bra's but they are just thick clear tape

Thats insane!!!!! I want this stuff!!!! So tell me, is it easy to put on? The 3m film. Also, if I spray only the bumper with engine coat, will it be glossier or not as glossy as the rest of the car? As in will it not match in glossiness or shininess in any way? And ever heard of spraying the whole car? Or would it ruin the paint? Not be as glossy? Sounds cool! I wish I could save my bumper with something

the 3m paint guard film is great stuff. i dont condone NASCAR, but they use the film on all of the cars to keep as many scratches from killing the body. its expensive, but well worth it. later chris

yeah that stuff is really cool but expensive. they put it on the front end of a WRX i think in that how to they did. it was pretty cool. you can stretch it to fit and such. it's pretty much an aftermarket bra. they said they had enough to put on the mirrors too
