Bondo is only used to smooth out the edges. Don't do a tailight conversion yourself, its way too hard, and it will crack easily if you don't know how to do it. Its really a job that should be left for professionals, and its very time consuming, so that's why it costs so much. | |

3731, RE: Conversion question, cyan help me homie Posted by cyan, May-03-01 05:08 AM yeah, like he said, they will either have to weld sheetmetal to the stock fenders and hatch and cut it for the new lights, or either they will mold fiberglas onto whats already there. bondo is used in both cases to smooth all the edges and make it all look OEM. i wont say don't do a taillight conversion yourself, ill say you CANT do it yourself. even professionals have a hard time with this kind of thing because there are so many factors involved. and it shows when its done badly (lights come out uneven or angled funny because...duh...they arent supposed to be on that car. leave it to the pros and your deep wallet | |
