I never thought this would happen but... The president of Quwhees called me today and wants me to switch to their kit. He is willing to let me have the kit for $450.00 shipped. This is for the whole kit!! I can't wait, widebody... here I come!!

ummm last I heared quwhees was bought out or something like that. If it is the old owner/press you may want to talk around before you do it. The original kit is shit very thin metal and is a lot to get installed and smothed out. Good luck though I may actualy be going with a knock off fiberglass version because its thicker and easier to work with.

It will cost quite a bit. We are currently working out a deal on the labor. If I'm willing to bring my car directly to them, they will install it and paint the car any color of my choice, that's if I bring it to them. Hopefully, if all goes well, they will be paying a local shop for the install and paint. Right now, it's looks as if they will but... you never know.

IMO the kit looks bad ass when done right. You should be aware however this is not a bumper and side skirt replacement. All the pieces (11 in all) have to be bonded to your car. You will also need the stock side skirts if you don't all ready have them...

I have the kit sitting in my garage waiting to go on. I will also say that I HATE the front piece that goes on the nose and I will be modifying the front end so it doesn't funky. This kit will be expensive to have installed if you want it done right.

To make it look really good, after the body kit has been attached with Fusor 127 (or 147 I forget which) you need to take a 2" strip of fiberglass and run it along the seems. Then fill that seem with some fiberglass gel or bondo and sand, sand, sand...

You will also want to cut out the back vents on the rear quarter panels, fill with some mesh and run tubing backbehind the stock panel to your brakes (for cooling)...

Anyway, I really like the kit but that's my opinion. I'll be posting a complete guide to installing the kit with pictures on the Quwhees site once I can get the dough together to get a real paint job after the install...

Good luck

I agree about the front bumper. HEHE, lucky for me their changing it. After talking with Quwhees for sometime now, they're going to do all the fitting, install, and paint, plus it's going to be slightly modified: Instead of using their existing front, they're gonna modify it to incorporate my existing blitz front (gonna have to modify the blitz too), also instead of the rocket looking attachments on the side, it's gonna feature wider than usaul custom MR2 vents. My car is going to them on January 15 and I probaly won't see it for at least 2 1/2 months, but it shall be worth it. This will truly be a one-off kit, only one like it, they way I like it!

On the other hand, some of you guys don't like it, that's fine, I wasn't asking if you approved. I don't build my car to suit other people's taste. You do your thing, I'll do mine and respect yours.

Don't get a bright color. Get a color with depth and it won't look bad at all.

I also remember the chick with the chamelion quwhees said that the kit is terrible for daily driving. Good luck mang, one bump could mean a while new paintjob.

Yeah she had a Quwhees kit and I remember hearing it was fallin apart after a couple months (the one sponsored by Meguiar's also). Be really careful if you daily drive your car. Just make sure you won't regret it because it's knid if hard to go back to stock after getting that kit put on (you'd have to repaint your whole car again).

This car won't be my daily driver, it isn't now. The car is garage kept, except for shows. I own 3 cars and just bought a Harley (I know what your thinking...just wait) so I won't be bothered by the non-dailyness.

sounds like the car is going to be very nice all I got to say is I want to see pics when its done!

As far as the kit not being good for daily driving and falling apart, I believe that is the install job... If you pack the backside of the fiberglass panels you bonding on to the car with structural foam, make sure you have a good bond plus reinforce it with a strip of fiberglass, you will definitely not have any problems.

I think it would definitely be pretty cool to have Alvaro (the owner of Quwhees) do some custom work on your car, but a word of warning:

When you have custom body work done, it takes a lot of 'other' materials to create a good sculpt. These are prone to cracking and seperating so you may want to see about getting fiberglass cast pieces of the final sculpt for permanent fixture to your car. As I'm sure they will be making a mold of them for future release...

On the other hand, Alvaro's work IMO is really nice. His Gen 3 Eclipse Widebody kit is REALLY nice as well. I got a chance to see it at NOPI Nationals. If anyone else was up there they would probably remember it, it was Blue and Orange...

Anyway, good luck with everything and I'm definitely interested in seeing some pictures when it's done.

Oh yeah and the website is http://www.quwhees.net

I thought of that too but since I am going track with my Spyder I decided not to since it will crack during chassi flex under alot of power:-( And for a daily driver it will be the same I imagine...or am I wrong?
