36756, Who makes the baddest leather shift knob?
Posted by DeanoD, Dec-15-02 11:15 AM
I want another screw on type shift knob like my Greddy Trust chrome knob/stock leather mitsu knob. I am freezing my fingers off in the winter and want a killer leather knob with great stitching.

So who makes one and where can I buy it for a good price?

My wholesale hookups only sell crap besides the Greddy Trust(which I have). I also found the 2G mitsu leather one from MachV. It is my number one choice right now......gotta love the 2gnt search :)

Thanks guys!

I really think there is no better than the stock leather one. It screws right in, the stitching is clean, and the black with leather protectant is bad. Plus if you got a short shifter no other knobs its as low as the stock...

Is it a direct screw on like I stated above? or do you use set screws, then screw it onto the mount.....which I really do not like.

They don't screw on but these are some of my favorites!

Why not? I love my Sparco that is held on with set screws. It doesn't get loose for anything.
EDIT: By the way, you are right, this thing is "F"ing FREEZING in the winter time!

You should contact Eric Schmidt for a custom 2G short shift boot. Tell him to make it overall 3 inches shorter than stock(mine is 2.5 inches shorter with a B&M not cut) and narrow near the top like he made mine. Works great and does not bunch up like the stock one when you drop the height of the shift lever. His info is here. I think they are still around $20 shipped.

I have the Momo Air leather, like the one above except has the brushed aluminum bottom half. Its not too cold as long as you are only touching the leather LOL. Its not easy finding a decent shift knob that screws on like factory, I looked for a while.

check razo knobs. spwusa.com probably has them all.
