36732, How Do you Use Fiber glass resin ? Posted by chrysler kid, Dec-14-02 08:42 PM
ok i have the kit fitted perfect except for a small but noticeable gap between the turn signal in the headlights and bumper. not in up and down but left to right gap. How hard would it be for me too add fiberglass to the bumper and eleminate the gap. I have never used it before. What do i need and where can i buy it ?
damn i suck at typing at 4 am in the morning.

first of all thanks for posting the pics. i really appreciate it. as soon as i figure out this digi camera we will be in bizness.
fibre glass resin- i wouldnt use simply because it is alot of work and creates a mess. unless u intend on doing alot of samding. depending on how big the gap is what i would do is put a backing on it, ie cut out a piece of cardboard to the exact shape and puch it in there. next what u can do is go to a hardware or auto parts store and bick up some kitty hair (what it is is reinforced bondo with fibre strands in it. then sand all around the area of glass (so it can bond) then fill in the hole and make it overlap on the glass fender so u can make sure to get it in there and then samd it out. if u are leaving the headlight in when u do this i would take tape and line the edge of it so the filler doesnt stick to it. all in all i would use that. just take your time sanding so u can make it look good. do it by hand so u can keep the shape. id get some 80 and then 150 grit. 80 knocs dwn the high stuff then go over to shape it with the other. send me an email if u need anything else. hope this helps ben

I agree, if you are asking this question I would not do it. I have quite a bit of experience with working with bondo and fibreglass and I do not think that I would even tackle that project.
