curious at what his setup would lose in weight. i dont' know the stock weight #'s thats why i'm asking.
CF hatch, possibly with lexan...most likey actually
CF hood
CF doors
CF front fenders
aftermarket front, rear, sideskirts, not sure if a wing or not.
take out stock - seat belts and parts, rear tire, etc. and probably rear seats
racing seats
maybe a CF dash, dash panels (carbonwekrs.com)
lexan back side windows.
and anything else?
the reason is i'm thinking of going AWD...thinking i said. probably all depends on if howell makes the aluminum block or not. if i go awd i'd want to lose all the weight possible. and anyone know if the GSX's can get aftermarket transmissions? i know they can get them to be stronger but what about the gearing to be better for more topend?

stock hood weighs 40 lbs, I don't know any of the others.

with the hood, fender, door skins, hatch, front and rear bumpers, seats, and some other misc stuff we droped 800lbs off a tsi (my manufacturer)

that was with 2 cf seats we got and a full interior stock hatch glass

motofool, you ever able to get pics of the CF ones? and can you give me the link again to the pics of the fiberglass ones again? and some prices? would the front and rear bumper make that much of a difference as opposed to a urethane one? cause i still want some style with it. and with the CF seats, were they adjustable? appreciate the help guys

you just named off about 4000 bucks worth of carbon fiber not to mention the install, hope you prepare to tweak the fuck out the suspension, probally need to run jic components to get what you want out of it, so add another 3000, i think all that carbon fiber will be a little extream for a street driven car or a little tacky, that setup is mostly seen on full trailor queen race cars.

and btw, the stock hoods weigh a hella more than some 40lbs

i wouldn't say its not worth it to do ona street car but it is expensive and most people would paint over the carbon so its fiberglass that most people would do...

i dont see how the suspension would have to change witha lighter car that much the hood (3 layer) actually stiffens the chassis up..

it definatly makes the car lighter and faster it drops about 800lbs if u do it right...

the seats are a mold to buttocks basis non adjustable...

the ureathen is definatly heavier but u could just use a ureathane bumper no big deal, looks to me would be worth the 50lbs or so,

whenever you drop that much weight from a car, suspension will always need tuning, thats if you do it right though ;)

what do you mean about the suspension being tweaked? and i'm not getting fiberglass because it isn't as durable as CF. don't know if i'll paint it either. just add insult to injury with the looks :) but i don't know if i'll get everything, probably won't get the dash...at least not right off.
