I am talking about the black soft rubbery like door jam to keep water out and heat in the car it goes all the way around all 6 windows and around a few other little things...Is it possible to spraypaint them and if so is a special kind needed (I was thinking of taping off and painting them right there on the car seen as I am diong my interior that way too)...

no offense, and i know your new, but try the search. im not gonna jump all over you for it but you seem to be asking alot of questions about things we talk about alot. in case you didnt know we have a Things We've Seen Before board here where we archive alot of questions. use our search engine and youll find most of the answers your looking for.

you might be able to paint it if you use flexible bumper paint, but i don't know if it'll hold up very good.

I think the paint would not stick well to the rubber which expands when it's hot. It would also probably form a lot of cracks in the paint right away. I wouldn't paint it...

i used some vinyl paint. a high gloss vinyl paint for the weather stripping. so far, no problems. bends and moves just like before with no cracking. i got it from pep boys. hope that helps.

Off-topic - Can you paint the hoses under the hood? If s, whatkinda paint?

In respons to 96eclipse2nr sorry I will start checking that from now on... and Ryan_RS yes you can paint the hoses but its almost as cheap and much better looking to get silicon hosing and use that or even a little more expensive but even better is mesh hose wrapping kits... But yes you can paint all hoses except high heat ones like your spark plug wires or your header (even engine temp 1500 degree ceramic paint won't stay on a header I painted mine and it burnt off withing 30 seconds after a started my car and left a massive cloud of smoke) as for stuff like a/c hoses and wire loom and anything staying under 200 degrees even the valve cover can be painted with normal old enamal paint and it will stay on just fine... ( Ive done my whole engine bay that way)...

Also shuwa29 thanks I think I will try the vynil type my only prblem is I wanna do it in light blue and I can't find any vynil paint that color maybe Ill have to order it =( and wait like 3 months...
