ok, i have a 99 gs, and it has power everything, and when i try to press the switch for the lock, it moves very slowly. I want to get this fixed, anyone know of any suggestions, and im also gonna get an alarm with keyless entry, and i want this fixed before i get it installed. Please help!!!

my girlfriend has the same problem with her explorer. The passenger side lock works fine but the driver side barely moves anymore. I would assume it needs a new motor/actuator. not sure. jeff

take off your door panels/skins... a cuple screws, one behind the inner door lever, and one inside the lil holder on the bottom...
all of the power locks are powered by metal levers that look like wire hangers jerryrigged rather nicely inside the door.
there may be some dirt/gunk on one of the metal levers causing the door to lock slowly...
clean it up and your done ;-)

I tried to remanufacture mine, but didnt work
So my drivers works and the passengers dosent...
Just gonna shave them eventually.
