35797, i got a few ?'s probably only the guys who know most about eclipses should look ;c) Posted by blinkbizkit500, Dec-03-02 03:12 PM
ok i just have a few ?'s that i need to know about our cars...
1. Are there any ways to remove the vents in the doors without taking the whole door apart? I did the ones in the center console fine but what about the doors? Both the movable ones and the long ones on top.
2. What is the bulb # for our headlights and corners? I want to get street legal ones that have a bluish tint for the headlights but don't know which are best. Also, my clear corners look dull with the stock yellowish bulb in there. What is the size for the corner bulb and what is a good bulb to get to make it brighter/whiter?
Thanks a lot for helpin out guys.

You have to take the door skins off in order to get the vents out. It is quite easy. Just remember the order you took everything off and all that fun stuff. As far as the bulbs, i have no clue. :thumbsup.

Well on my rs i didnt have to take anything off, just give them a nice lil tug and the pop right out. As far as the long vents on top use something like a flat head give it a lil nuge and they will pop out there are secured by little tabs. The headlight bulbs you need are 9006 for your driving low beams dont get anything over 80 watts or youll most likely melt your headlight harness

Well first off the door skin comes out with four bolts in it (screws actually i think) then you have to pull the little red rivits away from the door fram (just grab the door panel and yank that thing off make sure you have all 4 screws out first though they are only sunk in plastic holders) then the vents are hidden behind the black tubing that connects them to your ac remove that with the plastic nuts and you can pop the vents right out. As for bulbs high beem is 9005 and low is 9006 APC makes a great blue thats street legal. Also one more thing, a1eyed1der you painted your blitz kit (minus side skirts) yourself didn't you? Well fit it on a little better (tuck edges) and then go buy some gloss black not flat black in a dupli color rattle can and touch those things up (3 coats is plenty, 30min between coats to dry and wait at least 3 hours before you buff) also clear coat them with some high gloss dupli color clear coat 2 coats is plenty with the same drying times as the black coats, then buff and wax the hell outa them... They will look a whole lot better right now it looks like you havent even painted the bumpers they looked sadley primed...

Okay, I take mine off constantly....here's the skinny.
If you have crank handles for your windows you need to remove the little clip that holds the crank in place. You need a thin, small flathead or a hook of some sort...just pull on the crank, push in on the door panel and you'll see it, just wiggle and pull till it pops loose.
Then you have a screw behind your door handle. Take that out and push the bezels forward before you pull on them. They have 2 small tabs on the back that break easy.
Then there's another screw in the bottom of the area you use to pull the door shut (don't know what that's called). It's covered by a plastic finishing cover. Just use a flathead, pop that off, then remove the screw.
Finally there are the 4 screws around the door...plain as day, just remove those.
After that all you have to do is pull the door panel towards you and it will come right off. you may have to do the bottom first, just find a corner and gently pull outwards...you'll get the idea.
a1eyed1der, how did you get your vents out without removing the door panel? I have an RS too and those suckers are screwed in from the back with like, 6 screws!
I think the bulbs up front are 9006 and 9004. I could be wrong, but they are the same that came in my 2000 GMC Sonoma. I had hyperwhites in my truck and I just transfered them over when I traded it in.

you really don't need to take the whole door panel off, just use a flathead screwdriver, as mentioned above, and pop out the vents. I did it 2 days ago, take 5 minutes

For first thing that's not my car but it is my best friends... I did the body work and molding on it and as for the mods he has quite a bit done although, nothing internal like cams etc..mainly he has a full catback and downpipe exhaust -cat... cold air intake. adjustable cam gears (set 1.8 deg advanced),header, stand alone ecu from AEM, MSD Dis 2 Ignition, Apex Super AFC... I also bored his TB and Bored and Honed his intake manifold.
We havent got any time slips yet but we will soon, we are expecting 14's due to the new rear end gears and a really well maid LSD from Quaif.
