35693, Needle replacement ? Posted by chill215, Dec-01-02 11:51 PM
Hello all, First off I looked all weekend and could not find any info in the arcives. I need to know where the speedo needle rests on its own when the needle stop post is removed. to make a long story short, I install a LED needle kit, and when I took off my needle (speedo) I did not pull the stop post and mark the needles natural resting spot, (directions sucked)I just figured it had to go back on at "0". my speedometer is all messed up, when i am going 40mph it reads 20mph can someone please help? my car is a 95 talon non-turbo automatic-trans

it may not be perfect calibration, but more than likely the "resting" spot will be where the needle points straight down.. as in the tip of the needle will point directly south if the gauges were in the car and such.. put the needle on there and then lift it over the stop post and it should be pretty close to correct. if anything you will only be off by a few mph in either direction.
