Anybody have the new issue of Super street? W/ the sweet black eclipse? He says they're Shine Street fender flares. But when I searched for them the only fenders I see are for the 3g. Anybody know if these are the same kind he has and if they will fit a 2g? THnx

there just reg fender flares, that have been molded up and out(custom) kinda like a fake widebody, they sell on ebay for about 250. but the custom work to get them to look like his, prolly be around 600. not a easy as sounds,
btw, check on ebay for the flares!

have a question about flares. if the fenders are fiberglass and the flares are, when you mold them will it still crack and everything?

yes it can still crack from excess stress on it. I've seen it happen on an accord with z3 fiberglass fenders and fender flares molded to it. Not a pretty site...

it would be nice if someone made sheet metal flares that we could weld on. I would be interested. Sure it's more weight, but it'd hold better for daily driving.

well that sucks. sheet metal wouldn't have a problem would it? thats an idea....

Funny that you should mention this... I am looking to widen the rear of the car slightly (.25" on each side or so) to fit my monsterous tyres. They are 245/45/ZR-17, and I am spacing them out a bit so that they don't hit the upper link, but I have a problem with them hittin my rolled fenders. I will make this work.

Flares are fiberglass usually. You can't mold polyurethane to the car. You could bondo it, but that wouldn't hold. You have to have rivets showing with urethane ones.

I like the idea of steel, myself. Nothing as aprupt as a flare, amybe a bit more gradual. Any ideas?

costs of making steel flares would be a lot I would think. You could probably use fiberglass ones, and shave them down for your gradual look. maybe you could go to a junk yard and get some fenders to play with. Maybe even use them to make a flare to weld on. Just an idea.

I don't like how fiberflass flexes less then the material that it is being put on. I don't want my fenders cracking, I might as well just let the tyres hit the fenders and let them sort each other out... ;)
