hi. Notice on my car in my sig, the large gap between my hood and my front bumper. Thats because I had to scretch the front bumper over the headlights because they are 95-96 headlights which means they are to big for the 97-99 bumper. Ok so, theres a gap. Now if I purchase projectors or even stock 97-99 headlights, which will fit in the headlight spots, will the urethane bumper go back to normal? Or will it be all bent out of position because its been stretched like this for maybe a year or almost a year? Maybe someone who scretched a 97-99 over their 95-96 headlights has had this experiance

Also, I only did the front bumper, side skirts and...... turbo spoiler. Otherwise its a 95 esi.

sounds to me like your talking out your ass, ive been dealing with dsm's for years now, i know just about every exterior aspect on them. and yeah THERE NOT 95-96 HEADLIGHTS. they are 97-99 in the photo. i seriously doubt thats even your ride because i think ive talked to the guy that owns that car. it has 97-99 gs rims also that you forgot to mention.but im gonna see if i can get in contact with jason from dsmtrader.com to see if he cant come to the forum and identify the car. btw those wheels are 97-99 fyi

agreed. those rims are 97-99. Also, the 95-96 headlights are noticeably different even when painted. Quit talking out ur ass man. It's no wonder people flame you so readily. Look at the content of 100% of the shit u say. It never makes sense. You contradict yourself. WTF? you painted the headlights, so they changed shape too? I know 95-96's would be overlapped and kinda look like 97-99's, but there are differences I am not seeing.

plus he said he got it painted a maaco or some bullshit, thats not a maaco paint job, maaco is a production paint company, alot of the time the painters are apprentices. maaco didnt paint that car and if they did u either got a hook up or payed more than 500. im still waiting on jason to get back to me, but i know that isnt your car, you would know a little more about it if it was....btw was i spelling maacco right?lol

Im flattered that you think I did such a great job with the headlights that you can't tell. Those are 95-96 headlights. I took them apart and painted inside black. Im not sure if you can tell in the picture but you cant see the inside edge of them, becasue theyre under the bumper......

Yes its maaco. No nothings photocropped or chopped or shopped. And yes I do have 97 rims. I can't believe you don't think I own this car. Tell me to do anything, like sit on the hood naked or lick the muffler, ANYTHING, Ill do it and post a picture. Thats really my car. And yes its Maaco. I can prove it by taking pictures of every edge where its flaking. Which is EVERY edge. Oh you guys.... Ill take more pics today. And tell me of a specific pic you want to see and Ill take it.

Also, for the guy who said "go buy 97-99 headlights", thats why I was asking this question. Because if I buy them they will fit good, but will the urethane still be bent out of position? Because really Id only buy them so the urethane can sit normal and will go all the way up to the hood. Its not a big thing, but its enough to bother me everytime I see my car from the front.

By the way, to make them stretch, it was hard. Which was why I ended up only using like 3 out of the 5 screw holes that are between the headlights. The outer ones, closest to the headlights, couldnt stretch that far obviously.

To me they look like 95-96 lights.

The 97-99 have a bulge around the side orange light. His don't seem to have the bulge.

So yeah, its my car. And I think Ill go ahead and get a set of 97 healdights, used. even if the bumper doesnt bend back and match up with the hood, well, the headlights still look better.

To answer your question Mrlocalpimp... unless the urethane is creased I think it should go back to original form. If it was one of those cheap aftermarket urethane bumpers I would have my doubts but the stock stuff is pretty thick and durable.

yes its stock. I would think it would go back, but I stretched it pretty hard. Oh well. We'll see when I get new lights. Projectors arent much more expensive, in fact couldnt they be cheaper... Maybe Ill go with those, that way I get something out of it, in case the urethane doesnt go back so it wont seem like a waste of money.

i dont think he would put a talon rear end on an eclipse, but then people have done wierder things, and to anwser your question mr pimp no urethane wont strech. when you put a 97 bumper over 95 lights (like i did) its hard to tell the difference :thumbsup

Well I did, thats my question. I put a 97 bump on 95 heads and theres a gap between the bump and hood, but whatever, its solved, Ill go with projectors.

Also, an eclipse guy would put a talon rear end on for a reason like getting rear ended. Maybe the bumper and lights got totaled and..... insurance wouldnt cover it for some odd reason. And you found a cheap set of talon bump and lights. Im sure its happened many of times.... Maybe

i had my bumper on my closet for several months in a really weird position w/out knowing and now is as it was new and also is the 97-99 look but one of those aftermarket oem replacement so in short you're good to go
you probably can get projectors cheaper than used stock that's what i'm doing on my new 95 gs-t

I don't want to judge if its your car or not but I will say if it is you have done a damn good job, most people would rather pay a body shop to do something thats not worth paying them for... At least you tried right? Anyway Urethane is the shit of shit man you can fold it up to fit in your dresser drawers and 2 years later pop it out and BOING you got your bumpers and skirts back. So you will have no problem diong that as for the headlights a stock OEM headlight from manufacturure is $5 more than a set (yes set that means 2) of the projector style so you will save big and look good.

my front end was folded in half at the body shop from sitting on a pile of metal shards and peices for a week. I almost had a heart attack when I saw my bumper at a 45 degree angle.
