3483, powder coat???? Posted by Deze2g, Apr-25-01 01:23 PM Has anyone done this?, I am getting my valve cover, and strut brace mounts powder coated, and i'm doing my front brakes soon, so i was thinkin while i'm at it, i might get my calipers, and rear drums done. I was wondering if it would stay on, unlike most caliper paint i've seen that fades and chips, powder coat is more durable, think it'll work? Also i was gonna get some of my interior, ex: vents, and door handles, etc..done too, will powder coat stick to plastic? | |

You have to bake it after you apply it and the temperature would melt the plastic. (it is somewhere in the 400+ degree range.) You would be better off painting the interior plastic with a good quality automotive paint. Sorry! :-( | |

Also a friend is going in on it. So if we do both valve covers, plus various other parts, around $200 or so to buy our own, will probably be alot cheaper. | |
