Ok before you say anything because I know you're thinking, who the hell would shave their antenna? Well I am basically because 1)I dont listen to the radio and 2) I dont even have the hook up for it on my unit so there is no purpose for it being there. So since I'm getting a paint job soon anyways I figure I might as well just shave it. Anyone have any suggestions? Will bondo work? any other product?

well, it will work, buuuut, another alternative is to get one of those s2000 antennas that stick up maybe 4 inches, those look pretty smooth, but if you wanted it completely shaved then yes bondo will work, and yes get a pro to do it

Bondo alone will sink in and crack. You need to weld sheet metal to shave the antenna hole, and then bondo over that....

anyone know where to get the s2000 antenna?

i agree, no bondo because thats just a temporary fix, you need to have a shop do metal work.

since you can reach up in there from the back and touch that whole area couldn't you fiberglass it from the bottom with a few layers and then use bondo to contour the top? I would much rather attempt this fix myself than have to pay a shop to do metal work. If it doesn't work when I try a couple of times, then I would give up and pay.

That will still crack over time. The only real way to do this is to have metal welded. You'd have to repaint that whole rear quarter panel area anyways, so you might as well pay a shop to weld some metal.

I welding sheet metal to the hole when I shaved mine. that's the best way to go. By the way, that is a bad a$$ conversion on that civic!

well actually to clarify Its ntot thst i dont have the antenaa hookup its just that my antenna doesnt have the cable

sorry for the crappy typing Lesson of the day- when cutting holes in your center console for a switch with and exacto knife, dont slice your other thumb

how many miles, yr? engine? problems? etc? i have a friend looking for a civic

95 Civic EX with about 130k miles.
Engine was replaced 2 years ago. Clutch recently replaced.
No major problems that I know of.

Here's some info:
S2000 tailight conversion
Shaved door handles, antenna holes, wing, side moldings
Racinghart C2 3-piece 17" rims
House of Kolour Kandy Burple paint
Custom buddy club rear (that rear was never made for 92-95 civics)
M3 side skirts
M3 mirrors
and some other stuff..


Only major prob is:
Front bumper is cracked so that needs to be fixed along with the passenger side fender which has a small hole drilled in it.

when I shaved my antenna i used fiberglass and that was over a yr ago and it never sank or cracked...... you have to relocated your antenna cable cause other wise your reception on your radio will suck......

Yeah I guess you could get lucky and it won't crack, but it's just not the right way to do it professionaly to be honest. As others have said, welding metal is the only real proper way. It's kind of like cutting springs versus getting lowering springs. It might work for some people, but it's not recommended generally.
