Fiberglass most likely. Mines has been repaired with fiberglass in the top corners before. And where I got hit.

anything but bondo. I have seen them repaired with bondo. EWWWWWWWW. Maybe the shop that fixed it sucked, but it was horrible. Would have looked better fixed with painted over duct tape imo.

I think you have to use a special material to melt back into the urethane. Fiberglass and bondo do not adhere well to urethane so usually most shops won't even bother fixing urethane...

Marcus I'm sorry but I have to disagree.

Most body shops DO fix urethane bumpers, and it's ALWAYS a fiberglass patch or kit. The body shop that painted my bumper had to fix the gash torn into mine from when that mullethead backed into me. This is the same shop that rides from Team Koncept come out of. (http://teamkoncept.com) Now I have a paint crack there, but still they fixed the gash, and you can't tell. My stocker bumper was repaired with glass before I even bought it, and I never knew it until i "reopened" the crack after hitting a armadillo.

Well from my experiences, at least in socal, they don't usually repair urethane bumpers. Even before I got into body work, my insurance company said they would just have to buy me a new front urethane bumper. I know that for really small cuts you can repair it, but for a larger gash, I don't know how durable the repair would be. If you say they do it, then I'm sure it's possible. I just have always been told that once you damage urethane, they usually will buy a new one.

No, your chip is okay, you just have to repaint it. It's just the paint. The urethane on your bumper is not damaged at all from what I saw last time. Don't worry. Plus, I guess there are shops around that will fix it if it was torn...

i live in Oregon and work at a body shop.(99' ASA shop of the year) One way to go is buy a factory style, but aftermarket bumper.I bought my 97-99 style for $170.if you don't have the money to do that, we have this "fusor" stuff that works great.Look into it.
