Is there any way to get rid of swirl marks and very light scratches on paint? If so, I don't have a buffer, so would there be a way to do it without one? TIA

I took my car to the local body shop and had the paint rubed out
and 3 coats of wax - $200. looks a lot better, but I had to spend
4 hours cleaning wax out of the trim and moldings. Mcgraures Scrach-X works good too. good luck...

only "proper" way to do it is to have it buffed out. If you dont know how to use a power buffer properly, then i highly suggest you take it to a body shop or a good reputable detail shop. A good buff will take out all swirl marks and light scratches, and will make it glow :) I work at a shop that buffs cars, and it does take some skill and practice to do right, and not burn through the paint.. Expect to pay around 100 bucks or so for a good buff job.

Alright, cool. I have heard a lot of good reviews about Meguiars Scratch-X saying that it took out swirls and light scratches by hand very well.

meguires also make a product called swirl remover 2.0. It works better than scratch-x and can be applied by hand. Its part of the profesonal line and comes in an almond bottle. Its around $10 a bottle.

just make sure there is no oxidation on your paint.. rub your hand over it 1st. if there is remove that with the spray/bar. then polish/use the swirl remover then wax it... you can do it buy hand also just takes longer. if you got a friend laying around, grab him/her and one person does one step, then the other follows right behind getting the polish/wax off. you should be done within 2hrs if you got to clay it. i use to be ontop of my car as far as how shiny it is, but i have been busy with school and i got a life i got to take care of...
