well here is my led interior, i did the hvac, ac button and indicator, the rear defroster and indicator, the mirror, fog and cruise(that was a big bitch) i also did guages, the pics came out shitty but here it is

how did you change the Cruise control lights? i am about to do the same for mine and i didnt see how i can do that

How many bulbs did you use for the speedo and tach? Some guy on WI-DSM was talking about that. He said that he used like 6 bulbs to get rid of the dark spots.

the guages arent dim in person, my camera sucks,it doesnt do them justice, for the cruise, you have to take out the circuit board and soder directly to that, and be sure to put the new led on the same way the old one came off, i cant remember exactly how many bulbs, but we replaced every bulb that lights up the guages

and for the cruise, get 3mm leds

maybe you can help me...do you know how big of a resistor i would need for a 3000mcd, 2600 and 2300 LED?

the size of resistor is not determined by what the mcd is.. but rather by how many volts it requires and what the source voltage is.. each color led usually requires a different voltage. for our cars the source volts is about 12v.. and for most leds you can get away with using a 330ohm resiter.. (i cant remember off the top of my head, so i may be too high on the size of resistor.) if you do some searches you should be able to find more info and details on the led conversion. also.. the mcd is just some sort of measure of brightness of the led, the higher the number the brigter it is.

1k i think is a bit too high.. and will probably dim the led too much, but hey you can try it if you like.. if you are good with computers you can jerry rig up a contraption to use the 12v powersupply the computer uses as a test power source for testing the leds and resistor combination. there is some sort of calculation somewhere online with the volt/ohm conversion. the resistor can be different sizes depending on the led and what it requires, but a 330ohm kinda falls right in the middle for most leds.. im going on about a year on all my leds with no problems, with that setup.

The MCD rating for each LED determines its brightness or luminous intensity. The higher this number the brighter the LEDs maximum output. For this tutorial we are using the brightest Blue LED available at RadioShack.

The LEDs used in this tutorial are designed to accept a supply voltage of 3.7 volts (4.5 V max). Automotive electrical voltage on the other hand is roughly 12 volts. Due to this difference a resistor must be added to the LED. Ohm's law (Voltage = Current x Resistance or V = IR) is used to determine the required resistance value. The LEDs are rated at a typical current of 20 milliamps or .02 A. Plugging the known values into the equation and solving for resistance we get R = 600 Ohms. The resistors with the nearest value useful for this purpose happened to be 560 Ohms. You may opt to use a resistor of even lower resistance to get more light output but you may run into problems of overheating or premature LED burnout
